The Lab Assistant 1 role is essential to maintaining efficient workflow, patient satisfaction and quality laboratory results for subsequent patient care. Roles and Responsibilities: Performs proper venipuncture and post care of phlebotomy site along with labeling each specimen with 2 forms of ID with zero labeling errors. Accurate patient registration, requisitioning, and operational fluency in Epic. Proper labeling, processing and preparation of patient specimens for laboratory testing. Complete specimen batches in a timely manner for courier pickup or send specimens through the tube system properly. Communicate outpatient needs for adequate inventory and is proficient with system reporting requests. Completing all documentation requirements including outpatient daily, weekly and monthly checklists. Follow organizational policies and maintain a compliant environment including adherence to all laboratory procedures, HIPPAA standards, infection control and safety guidelines.
