I liked working in television. Even though my tasks were the same day in and day out, the stories we would cover would be different so it was hard to be bored.
There wasn't many opportunites to work up, particularly because I lived in and worked in a small town. However, that's probably much different in larger cities. The pay isn't great. It's ideal for college kids who have housing taken care of or people who are only looking to make some extra money. Long term, it's not great unless you can find a full-time position with a decent salary.
I only really worked during show hours so I would have like a 2.5 hour break in my work day to do other things.
Everyone is very kind. Always an upbeat attitude (even though we understand how pay is)
low pay; typical to work 50-60 hour weeks
we only have the basics. nothing to write home about.
