Start date: February 23, 2026 through April 17, 2026 Internship Summary: Radio Talk Show Production interns will assist CT Public Radio producers in the production and development of our flagship daily shows and weekly programs (Where We Live, The Colin McEnroe Show, Audacious, The Wheelhouse, and Disrupted). Interns will have the opportunity to work in a learning environment that includes producing, writing, and editing content for live and pre-taped shows, either fully virtual or on-site. The shows are interactive, combining interviews, listener call-ins, emails, and social media. Topics span current events, politics, social trends, and the arts. Several of the shows also have podcasts, offering interns the ability to produce fully digital programs. Interns will receive training in website production, audio production, radio continuity, and remote recording. As the internship progresses, there will be opportunities to gain hands-on experience in news production, feature writing, and show production. Interns can expect to work a maximum of 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. All interns are paid bi-weekly and must complete timecards. A Newcomer's Orientation/Onboarding is required on the intern's first day. Internship Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for guests. Assist with and gather "virtual or live" person-on-the-street interviews for produced show segments. Assist with screening phone calls during live broadcasts of Where We Live and The Colin McEnroe Show. Attend regular show planning meetings and support the generation of show ideas. Conduct research on show topics and share content online. Craft questions and write up interviews. Deliver content on tight deadlines with precision timing. Produce on-air, taped, and online story content. Research or produce visual or social media assets for the web. Support the administrative and technical show needs. Write, edit, and post articles and modules for online publication in collaboration with the Social Media Team. Other tasks as assigned. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Knowledge of: Adobe programs and/or other video and audio editing software. Awareness of the public radio mission and vision of CT Public. Baseline production techniques. Ability to: Arrive in the virtual or on-site space when scheduled and meet deadlines as assigned. Be creative and original, yet respond to feedback and editorial direction. Juggle multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency, and work well with all staff. Learn basics of radio production and tell diverse stories representative of the Connecticut community. Learn and share knowledge with others. Report and tell compelling stories. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. Job Description The Sports Producer will have ownership and responsibility to lead from concept to final delivery the production of on-air, off-air campaigns, multiplatform initiatives, and sustaining efforts that efficiently and creatively promote the sports network's properties and brand. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, leading, creating, developing and producing 360º campaigns for programming priorities, championships, branding pieces, special events, sizzles, special requests from stations and marketing, and presentation videos in a way that increases audience interest and overall market share, according to the brand high quality standards. Candidates should have solid experience of the creative process and digital trends to lead and develop multiplatform campaigns for on-air, off-air, digital, and other marketing initiatives. This is a project/limited term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. Responsibilities • Reporting both to Creative Director, and Creative Manager, lead all phases of on-air, digital/social, off-air marketing production, including concept development, execution, post-production and adaptation to other platforms. • Create, conceptualize and bring outstanding ideas and executions to drive tune-in and engagement. • Develop campaign creative strategies and decks as per approved process. • Collaborate with graphics department to conceptualize and coordinate the design identity foreach project and supervise its cohesive execution. • Guide, direct and provide constructive feedback to graphic artists, video editors, sound engineers, voice over talents and external agencies. • Execute internal management of campaigns and designated special projects serving as a communication hub between departments and external providers. • Handle promo production logistics which includes logging of material and episodes in accordance with standard process, requesting post services, submitting graphics requests, selection of music and obtaining timely approval of scripts/rough cuts/final cuts in order to achieve timely delivery of elements. • Work with Creative Manager and Creative Director in conceptualizing innovative/brand conscious campaigns. • Ability to supervise the production of live action shoots (ability to assess casting, wardrobe, art direction, and director´s proposals), working closely with supervising field producer and production companies to ensure a high-quality and cost-effective outcome. • Work hand-in-hand with marketing to provide different, innovative ideas that help promote our content. • Work closely with internal as well as external providers to ensure that an efficient tracking is implemented to meet deadlines with a flawless execution. • To have an established on-air and digital/social media background including proven experience driving major campaigns. • Remain up to date with the latest digital, marketing and industry trends. • Great communication and presentation skills with a solid judgment and criteria. • Able to simultaneously deliver on time multiple projects for multiplatform campaigns. • Team player able to prioritize work and approach each project with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
