We are seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Software Engineer with strong expertise in backend Java and Spring Boot development. This engineer will contribute to designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining internal applications and services.
This role operates entirely on-premise (no cloud environment), and works closely with cross-functional technical teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions. Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a strong plus but not a requirement.
Responsibilities
Back-End Development
Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
Implement RESTful APIs, integrations, and data processing logic.
Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code aligned with internal standards.
Full Stack Contributions
Support and maintain front-end components (React, Angular, or similar), including UI enhancements and bug fixes.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to support modern, user-friendly interfaces.
Systems & Collaboration
Operate within an on-prem environment (no cloud deployment).
Work closely with product owners, business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers throughout the SDLC.
Participate in code reviews, requirement discussions, and architectural design sessions.
Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving production issues.
DevOps (Nice to Have)
Contribute to or utilize CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Work with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, or similar on-prem pipeline tools (optional).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong proficiency with:
Java
Spring Boot / Spring Framework
REST API development
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
Solid understanding of source-control systems (Git preferred).
Ability to work in on-premise environments with traditional deployment models.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The Role: Software Engineering Intern
As a member of our software engineering team, you'll architect and solve complex problems that will directly influence the direction of the digital asset space. The Media Supply Chain Engineering team builds the applications and services that power Warner Bros Discovery's content supply chain. Our applications cover the entire breadth of the media supply chain, from idea to distribution. We have a robust global community of thousands of internal Warner Bros Discovery users who rely on our apps every day to get television produced, on the air, and onto HBO Max.
We're looking for a developer who can be an integral part of our Media Supply Chain development team based in our offices in Atlanta, GA. We need a full stack developer who's comfortable building, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs for enterprise solutions. Our current service tier is a blend of Python microservices and Lambdas deployed within AWS. Our fleet of services works together in an event-driven workflow to guide content through acquisition and distribution workflows. We also build dashboard applications and monitoring tools using React web components. As a full-stack developer you'd be working alongside our current development team that features other full-stack developers as well as back-end developers and media workflow specialists. We don't need you to be an expert in everything, but we need you to be comfortable in both microservice design and in UI coding. Requirements and designs don't deliver set in stone, so we need you to be able to think on your feet and fill in the blanks when necessary. As a Software Developer II, you will be part of the architecture and design of the solutions we're building. We need a developer who's comfortable proposing their own ideas for architecture as well as design, layout, and usability.
