1909

1909 -- Jackson, Church and Wilcox Co. purchased by Buick, which was owned by General Motors.

1911

SSG begins production on the M1 carbine as an alternative to the conventional Colt 1911 .45 caliber side arm.

1967

1967 -- Tilt-Wheel steering column introduced to the market.

1970

1970 -- Produced 20 millionth energy absorbing column, which was officially recognized by the United States Department of Transportation.

1999

1999 -- Delphi Corp. was spun-off by GM to become an independent, publicly held corporation.1999 -- Received Pace Award for E-STEER EPS from Automotive News.

2006

2006 -- 100-year anniversary2006 -- Driver Protection Module and One Touch Adjustable Column introduced to the market.

2009

2009 -- In November, Buena Vista Township's Board of Trustees approved a 20-year, 100 percent tax abatement for Nexteer Automotive.

2011

2012

2012 -- In December, Nexteer officials announced that one of the Detroit Three automakers -- Ford, General Motors or Chrysler -- had booked a significant contract with the company, prompting a $70 million investment in the company's headquarters in Buena Vista Township.

2014

2014 -- Nexteer broke ground in China in March for a new plant it will operate as a joint venture with Chongqing Changfeng, its partner in Chongqing Nexteering Systems Ltd.
