Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:
This position will allow the Student to get involved with the mechanics of creating Purchase Orders for our indirect supply base. Position would include verification and population of key data into Nexteer operating systems in order to push purchase orders through the system. The student will be required to pay special attention to GSM processes and procedures and push back on commercial team when necessary. Student may also partake in special projects to assist supervisors or other GSM commercial members.
Skill Requirements:
* Ability to use MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and communication within Global Supply Management
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral) for effective contact within Nexteer
* Perform purchase order audits, create purchase order reports, and perform accurate verification of purchase orders

You will work cross-functionally with experts in autonomy, contributing to system-level validation and the continuous improvement of system robustness and validation workflows.
Localization
* Evaluate and test LiDAR-based localization repositories.
* Investigate Gaussian splatting localization pipelines and assess feasibility for embedded platforms.
* Explore machine-learning techniques for feature point correspondence between image frames.
* Implement and benchmark place recognition algorithms using computer vision.
* Integrate dynamic object handling into localization workflows.
* Develop multi-agent map-building and construction processes (offboard).

This Intellectual Property counsel internship position provides an opportunity for a first or second year law student to work as a legal intern in a fast-paced Legal Department for Nexteer Automotive, a publicly traded company with its corporate headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI.
The position will report to the Chief IP Counsel and will work in partnership with many of the attorneys, including the divisional legal directors and the specialized counsel.

Job Description:
Conduct patentability and infringement investigations.
Draft responses to Office Actions.
Draft patent applications.
Attend Patent Review Boards.
Assist with a variety of tasks typical in a corporate legal department.
Work areas would include a broad range of matters such as: corporate governance, employment and labor, claims and litigation, compliance and ethics, commercial contracts, intellectual property, and other general corporate legal work.
Draft and review NDA's and other legal documents.
Assist in commercial matters.
Assist in litigation issues.
Assist with review and timely response to subpoenas and other information requests.
Respond promptly to requests from the sales, purchasing, operations, finance, engineering, and other departments.
Summarize and communicate risks, legal concepts, company policies, and procedures in a way that business people can use.
Support the continuous improvement of standard agreements and legal processes.
Communicate effectively in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment.

Requirements:
Candidate must be patent bar eligible - engineering or software background preferred
Candidate must be a 1L or 2L enrolled in law school in Michigan
Candidate must be able to work onsite 2-3 days per week (some remote possible) and on a multiple, consecutive semester basis
Candidate must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
Preferred: 3.0 GPA or higher
Candidate must be a full-time student

Work Arrangement:
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Pasadena, CA or Warren, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:

Work collaboratively with Design, Sculpting and Engineering to interpret sketches and develop clay scale models of a future automotive theme using established and emerging clay sculpting best practices and techniques. Required Qualifications:
* Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in one of the following areas: Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Fine Arts, Sculpture or Ceramics
* Must be graduating December 2026 - May 2028
* Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week

What You'll Do:
* Support engineering feasibility studies and create basic physical and math models, supporting vehicle concepts.
* Application of First Principles Engineering supporting multidisciplinary project ideation and development.
* Create and facilitate engineering requirements to support the Studio design.
* Develop occupant packaging studies in support of new vehicle concepts
* Apply Design Thinking to create innovative solutions - Identify pain points, define measurement metrics for success, participate/lead brainstorming sessions, develop alternatives and select technical solutions.
* Develop proposals to resolve issues.
