Position Specific Description
Our Fleet Services Department is looking for a DieselTechnician to join their team at the Plant Turkey Point in Florida City, FL. DieselTechnicians provide safe and reliable vehicles and equipment to all customer segments while maintaining a technical focus for solutions to complex problems including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, fluid powering or hybrid applications.
To qualify for the position, you must possess at least three (3) Medium Duty/Heavy Duty Truck ASE Certifications of which one is for T4 Brakes OR an Associate Degree/Certificate of completion from an accredited university within a related field (e.g., Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, etc.) OR Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) within a related field (e.g. Automotive/Truck/Equipment maintenance, Diesel engines, Hydraulics, etc.).

**Position Specific Description**
This position is located at our Turkey Point Fossil Plant in Homestead, Florida and will travel the state of Florida to support the fleet outages. Tools are provided by the company. Days and shifts will vary based on the business unit needs during the outage. Normal schedule (not supporting an outage) is a day shift Monday-Friday. Overtime hours average approximately between 400 hours to 800 hours per year. Employees are offered per diem when traveling outside of their region. The plant operates 24/7 so individuals will be expected to work and support weekend days as needed.
**Job Overview**
This is a non-shift classification that works a regular day shift schedule. The primary function of this individual is to perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment. This classification works under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman. This classification may be required to travel to other locations as workload requires.
Minimum requirements for job:
+ Has previously held the classification of mechanic,and/or successfully completed the joint apprentice program for mechanic or equivalent.
Accountabilities:
+ Operates all types of power and machine tools and uses any hand tools and equipment necessary to provide a safe, clean and productive work place.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Diagnose and repair issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance systems
Perform scheduled maintenance on RVs including oil changes, battery checks, tire/brake checks, and sealant inspections
