Position Specific Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Substation Engineer to oversee document turnover and file management to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance for newly constructed substations within our renewable energy fleet. Key responsibilities include storing and managing test records, drawings, configuration files and ensuring compliance with NERC standards. This role will have a primary interface with the construction and design engineers working together to ensure successful projects.
Accountabilities
* Substation subject matter expert serving as customer representative.
* Supervise contracting team to execute process in the field.
* Drive continuous process improvements.
* Support transfer of asset attributes into asset management system (Maximo).
* Support activation of required preventive maintenance (PM) tasks for the site.
* Collaborate with solar and energy storage project managers, operations teams, and engineering & construction personnel.
* Store all documents in document management systems (D2/Documentum), including substation physical, electrical, relay, and equipment drawings.
* Record and store documentation of protection and control systems.
* Store configuration files for non-protection relays, including communication processors, meters, PLCs, and transformer temperature monitors, etc.
* Ensure transfer of As-Builts post construction.
* Catalog all commissioning and test reports, including relay installations, equipment tests, and ground grid test reports.
* Support control center operations checkout processes.
* Manage and update the communication protocol tracking files.
* Provide recommendations for procurement of critical spare parts.
* Ensure transfer and storage of important regulatory and contract documents, such as FAC, MOD, CIP, and agreements like PPA and GIA.
Capabilities
* Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineer, other engineering degrees may be considered with relevant experience
* Understanding of NERC compliance requirements.
* Work experience in substation engineering, construction and/or management.
* Experience with asset management systems and document management systems
* Demonstrated capability in leading development and change efforts.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Excellent communication and professional skills.
* Knowledge and experience in power generation or renewable energy technology is a plus.

Job Summary
The Engineering Technologist III serves as a Lighting Photometric Designer within Duke Energy's Outdoor Lighting group. This role is responsible for developing professional, code-compliant lighting designs for a variety of outdoor applications, including residential subdivisions, multifamily developments, commercial sites, roadways, and Department of Transportation (DOT) projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with creative problem-solving to produce efficient, visually appealing, and safe lighting layouts that meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Lighting Design & Photometrics: Develop detailed outdoor lighting designs and photometric calculations for new installations and system upgrades across residential, commercial, and municipal applications.
Technical Tools: Utilize lighting design software such as Visual, AGi32, AutoCAD or similar programs to model performance, evaluate uniformity, and ensure compliance with IES and local standards.
Project Development: Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Construction teams to translate customer requests into accurate and buildable lighting layouts.
Plan Preparation: Produce design drawings, fixture schedules, layout maps, and photometric reports to support proposals, permitting, and construction.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to Duke Energy standards, Department of Transportation requirements, and applicable local codes and ordinances.
Customer Support: Assist with technical presentations, proposal reviews, and value-engineering solutions to optimize cost, energy efficiency, and aesthetics.
Quality & Accuracy: Review designs prepared by others for consistency, completeness, and technical correctness.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current on evolving lighting technologies, photometric methods, and design tools to enhance overall quality and efficiency.

**Position Specific Description**
NextEra Energy's Power Generation Division is looking for an Engineering Leader for the GE 7F/7HA Combustion Turbine technology, reporting up to the Combustion Turbine Fleet Team (CTFT) manager. This Engineering Leader will oversee a team of combustion turbine engineers, of various experience levels, responsible for combustion turbine reliability, troubleshooting, technical investigations / root cause analysis issue resolutions, spare parts management, and outage planning. The Leader will be responsible for setting strategic initiatives and reporting to upper-level management on the overall performance and health of all NextEra combustion turbine assets.
Successful management of this large fleet of advanced combustion turbines requires balancing strategic overhaul and reliability goals with competing business needs. Strong relationships with the power plant management and operational teams, central maintenance organization, peer engineering fleet teams, and OEMs/contractors are essential to be successful in this role.
The Engineering Leader of the GE 7F/7H Combustion Turbine technology will own and be accountable for the following key responsibilities:
