Position Specific Description
Employees in this role lead a team of technical specialists or engineers. Individuals make decisions and recommendations having impact on extensive Technical Services activities of the company. The primary area of responsibilities for this role are in power plant water chemistry and supporting systems.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Responsible for the following monthly reporting - Power Plant Water Usage and Consumption, Chemistry Scorecards
* Collaborates with ISC for contracts and RFP, RFQ processes
* Lead troubleshooting and decision making for fleet assets regarding chemistry
* Uses skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
* Applies a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering and technical complexities
* Determines and organizes program and project objectives and requirements
* Develops standards and guidelines for diverse technical and engineering activities
* Manage documentation and currency of Service Requests, Work Orders, and MOCs in Maximo
* Actively participate in efforts to improve productivity and advance fleet reliability
* Support parts planning and annual budget planning
* Lead a team of chemistry technicians
* Manage all remote monitoring tags in PI and utilize all tools available for visualization and trending regarding water chemistry
* Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key staff, regulatory agencies, external /internal auditors, and officials of other organizations / companies.

**Position Specific Description**
This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations. This is a multi-craft position that operates and maintains plant equipment. The plant is located in Pensacola, Florida. Preferred craft Electrical or I&C.
**Job Overview**
Position performs power plant operations as well as maintenance on station equipment. Job will include other miscellaneous duties as assigned to include water chemistry and environmental compliance activities. This position will be required to work on a 12-hr. rotating shift including nightshifts, weekends and holidays and respond to off-hour callouts when needed.
**Required Qualification**
+ Must obtain outside/inside operation qualifications
+ A candidate possesses Journeyman level qualification specific to the craft discipline specified in the Position Specific Description as an Industrial Electrician, Journeyman I&C, or Journeyman Mechanic, or a candidate can hold an Associate degree that directly applies to Power Generation

Responsibilities
Perform Journeyman level duties in the installation, repair and maintenance for facility instrumentation and controls (I&C) as well as electrical systems (less than 600 volts).
Perform corrective and preventive tasks.
Calibrate and maintain instruments and control systems.
Replace worn, damaged or failed equipment and components in support of facility operations.
Competently utilize design drawings, electrical diagrams, instrumentation prints, and technical manuals.
Competently utilize standard test and maintenance equipment, hand tools, and power tools to include meggers, clamp on amp meters, rotation indicators, and oscilloscopes.
Have the ability to troubleshoot and repair lighting systems as well as complex control systems.
Clearly document maintenance history.
Provide support to Engineering with modifications or revisions to plant systems, equipment and/or components. Utilize a variety of computer software programs.
Work with other crafts to support jobs requiring I&C technical assistance.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong understanding of power plant dynamics, thermodynamic and heat transfer applications, and a thorough understanding of electrical theory and application
Basic/Required Qualifications
Minimum two years work experience in electronics and one year in pneumatics in power plant or related industry required.
Computer literacy
Desired Qualifications
Associates degree in an instrumentation or related field preferred.
Ability to acquire a strong understanding of power plant dynamics, thermodynamic and heat transfer applications
Understanding of instrumentation and process control theory and application.

This is a multifunctional classification that combines the duties of the previous operator "A" and "B".
