Monitor patients' response to treatments and medications and evaluate for any adverse reactions, side effects, and changes in condition.
Perform nursing procedures and interventions, such as wound care, IV therapy, catheterization, administration of emergency psychiatric medications and restraint management.
Utilize milieu management strategies to promote a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment within the unit, by providing direction and leadership to floor staff, engaging in de-escalation techniques with patients, and promoting positive interactions among patients and staff.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated medical and psychiatric services.
Completes all required documentation in a timely manner, including assessments, interventions, daily summaries, care plans, and risk assessments.
Proficient in assuring prompt recognition of any untoward change in patient condition and in facilitating appropriate nursing, medical or other intervention
Effectively communicates with patients, families, physicians, and team members
Checks timesheet daily at the end of shift to ensure correcting timesheets on an ongoing basis and approve timecards at the end of the pay period.
Accesses and checks webmail each shift when working to keep informed of current events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
EXPERIENCE:
