The Department of Clinical Mental Health Counseling offers CACREP accredited master's degree programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. We seek applicants with a strong identity as a counselor, educator, and scholar.
Qualifications:
A Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program or have their degree completed within one year of the date of hire.
Practical experience and evidence of professional counseling credential(s) through licensure or certification.
A demonstrated commitment to the counseling profession through sustained membership in professional organizations, research and scholarly activity (commensurate with experience), service, and/or professional development and continuing education.
Specialization in either clinical mental health counseling
Experience teaching core mental health counseling, mentoring, and supervising students.
Evidence of ability to deliver instruction effectively in both online (asynchronous and synchronous) and in-person formats.
Dedication to infusing a social justice minded approach reflective of our Vincentian mission across all course work.
Critical cultural awareness, a commitment to fostering a sense of community within the department and university, and an ability to maintain professional attitudes and ethical behavior.

Position Description:
Teaching three counseling curriculum courses (9 credits) per semester as dependent on departmental needs and candidate expertise.
Curriculum, course, and program assessment and development.
Student advising, mentoring, and clinical supervision.
Cooperative work with agencies, and the regional community.
Productive engagement with research and scholarly activities.
Service to the Department, University, and the profession.
Participation in the student recruitment and selection process.
Qualifications: The program is seeking a Tenure-Track (Assistant/Associate) Counselor Educator who completed education in a CACREP Accredited Program (or degree conferral by the time of appointment). Demonstrated ability to work collegially with members of the program and department is essential. Candidates should have an established Counselor Educator identity, demonstrated through involvement in professional associations, and certification/licensure or license eligibility. Candidates knowledgeable about Counselor Education, especially clinical mental health counseling, CACREP-accreditation operating procedures, and familiar with national training issues in counselor education are encouraged to apply.
Preferences: Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:
strong professional identity and commitment to counselor education, especially in clinical mental health counseling,
prior teaching and supervision experience, and
a commitment to diversity initiatives and training counselors to work with diverse clients.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Applicants are required to have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program (Note: ABD with completion by June 2025 will be considered.). Possession of, or eligibility for, additional credentials (e.g., NCC, LPC, ACS). Preferred Qualifications: Leadership experience and a proven track record of working with clinical mental health counseling initiatives including experience teaching CACREP common core areas, and supervision of counselors in training in practicum and internship. JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Residence Director is responsible for the supervision and management of all aspects of an assigned residence hall or halls. JOB SUMMARY:
Under routine supervision, the NUOP Assistant Director provides students with personal, academic and career counseling support that will enable them to successfully complete a four-year degree.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assist NUOP students in their academic adjustment to Niagara University through the NUOP Summer Program, counseling throughout the academic year, mentoring program, and study sessions (Power Sessions);
Plan and coordinate the pre-college Summer Program for freshman NUOP students including academic schedule, seminar course, weekend activities, speakers, study sessions, schedule all space needs for the program as well as order all supplies and textbooks used during the summer program;
Coordinate the hiring and training of summer program peer counselors and meet with them on a regular basis throughout the summer program to monitor their work with students and address any challenges that may arise;
Provide counseling for students during the summer and throughout the year who may have academic, social, career, and personal needs and make outside referrals as necessary (freshmen and upperclassmen who are near a 2.0 GPA on a weekly basis and other program students on a monthly basis);
Monitor the academic progress of program students and coordinate and monitor weekly study sessions (Power Sessions) during the academic year;
Pre-advise all program students each semester prior to their meeting with their departmental academic advisor; must stay current with academic requirements of all university programs;
Serve as liaison for program students with other university departments on campus and intervene, as appropriate, on behalf of the students in resolving problems and concerns;
Assist the NUOP Program Director with activities related to recruiting prospective students for the program including interviewing students, completion of financial aid documents, and follow up;
Assist continuing program students with the completion of financial aid documents such as the FAFSA and TAP applications and entrance and exit interviews for loans;
Assist the NUOP Program Director in preparing state and university reports;
Coordinate lobbying efforts with the NY State Legislature on behalf of the program including a letter-writing campaign to legislators and the governor's office in support of HEOP and visits to area legislators with other Western New York HEOP programs; also transports students to meetings, conferences, and activities provided by the program;
Assist in the coordination of active/passive programming
Assist in the creation and implementation of program assessments
Maintain NUOP program web site and update as needed;
Maintains all program files in a confidential manner;

JOB SUMMARY

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, club sport coaches recruit student athletes; assist in the scheduling of games, conduct practices for the assigned team, and contributes to the educational mission of the University by offering direction and instruction in the area of club sports.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under routine supervision, the NUOP Assistant Director provides students with personal, academic and career counseling support that will enable them to successfully complete a four-year degree.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assist NUOP students in their academic adjustment to Niagara University through the NUOP Summer Program, counseling throughout the academic year, mentoring program, and study sessions (Power Sessions);
