This person will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance to assist customers with their Minster supplied equipment, supervising/instructing personnel in setting up equipment in customer plants, and training customer's personnel on proper maintenance and operation of Minster equipment. Lead Application Engineer LOCATION: 485 W. 3rd St. Dover, OH SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Role Provide our customers with practical dependable solutions, meeting or exceeding the customers' expectations with their buying experience. Responsible for basic technical assistance with product recommendations and running parameters, specials quotations, product failure analysis, and complete ownership of any special product quoted throughout its life cycle. The Student Machinist provides high school seniors and adult education trade students the opportunity to gain hands-on machining processes experience in a manufacturing environment. Under close supervision, the student will support machining operations by performing foundational tasks on manual mills, lathes, and grinders, while also learning basic CNC functions such as loading and saving programs and basic operation. This role develops core machining skills under close supervision, contributing to part production, shop organization, and safe work practices. SUMMARY: The Student Machinist is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with machining processes across manual mills, lathes, grinders, and basic CNC operations. Duties include performing manual milling and turning tasks, precision drilling and boring, wheel dressing, flat surface grinding, and other shop-floor operations. The student machinist also learns to load and save CNC programs through the DNC system and gains experience in precision locating, thread cutting, and part inspection. Working under full supervision, the Student develops a working knowledge of machining principles, measurement tools, setup practices, and safety protocols, laying the foundation for progression into more advanced machinist roles. Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines. Use Micrometers, Calipers, gauges and CMM to check tolerances/quality of parts produced to provide accurate inventory counts. Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors. Maintain accurate records in EPICOR in relation to time to complete the job, completed quantity and scrap quantity. Read and understand layouts, job travelers and blueprints for the parts being run (includes Geometric Tolerancing) Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required Follow set-up procedures and recommend improvements. Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise. Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area. Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
