Job Summary: The NightAuditor is responsible for closing the business day by balancing revenues and receipts, performing bookkeeping activities, and providing guest services such as check-ins, check-outs, and addressing guest inquiries, ensuring a smooth overnight operation of the hotel.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Greet, register, and assign rooms to hotel guests.
Verify customer payment methods and process credit authorizations.
Maintain accurate records of room availability and guest accounts using the property management system.
Balance daily receipts and revenues, conducting income audits on posted revenues.
Assist guests with check-out processes, reviewing accounts and resolving discrepancies.
Answer phone calls promptly, directing inquiries or addressing guest needs.
Coordinate with overnight housekeeping or maintenance staff to resolve guest issues.
Make and confirm reservations, ensuring accurate data entry.
Provide guests with information on hotel services and local attractions.
Document guest feedback and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Perform nightly “bucket checks” to ensure compliance with hotel standards.
Assist in maintaining security and safety during overnight shifts by monitoring guest activity and access.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred.
Proficiency in basic bookkeeping and balancing financial transactions.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Work Environment:
Primarily indoor work, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting of items up to 10 lbs.
Frequent use of computers and telephones, requiring extended periods of sitting.
Must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue and telephone

Balance and audit for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashier's reports, and guest and
house accounts.
Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents; prepare customer tracking report, market segmentation report, food and beverage revenue report, and other auditing report necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses.
Transmit credit card batches.
Act as hotel system liaison during night hours. Call in and open tickets with Opera, Protobase, or System Support during the overnight hours if a system fails or issues occur.
Communicate with other hotel departments as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request or provide information.
Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required; may assist in booking room reservations; may assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of messages.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
May assist with other duties as assigned.
Jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your help.
Key Skills & Experiences
Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you'll be easy to talk to.
Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories.
Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential.
Literate and tech-savvy - you'll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic maths and computers
Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
You'll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential.
Experience - ideally you'll have spent at least one year in a front desk or guest service position.
Strength - sometimes you'll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling.
The hourly pay range for this role is $16.66 to $28.80. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. What You'll Do
The NightAuditor (Overnight Front Desk Agent) is responsible for check in and check-out, phone operations, navigating guest requests & issues all while providing outstanding service to our guests along the way. You'll act as an advocate for the hotel, be a creator of ridiculously personal experiences, and develop relationships with guests that will compel them to return!
Some of your responsibilities include:
Review arrivals noting special requests, blocking rooms as needed.
Check in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner.
Answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information.
Complete all items on appropriate (AM, PM, Overnight) checklist by end of shift.
Conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms, which includes VIPs, repeat guests, all packages and any special requests.
Follow established key control policy.
Ensure proper credit policies are followed.
Submit all lost & found articles accompanied by a completed lost & found report.
Familiar with all fire and emergency procedures.
Open, secure, and balance out daily shift bank which involves counting and verifying cash, check, and credit card transactions occurring while on duty.
Verify credit limit report.
Monitor room availability throughout the day.
Review daily the selling status of the hotel using yield management system.
Able to communicate via telephone and/or radio with other departments: Reservations, Sales, Housekeeping, Engineering, Valet.
Able to handle & report security issues appropriately
What You Bring
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time.
Able to calmly handle guest problems with ease.
Familiar with hotel systems and operations, and the ability to enter in information accurately.
