Job Summary: The NightAuditor is responsible for closing the business day by balancing revenues and receipts, performing bookkeeping activities, and providing guest services such as check-ins, check-outs, and addressing guest inquiries, ensuring a smooth overnight operation of the hotel.
Essential Functions and Duties:

Essential Duties & Functions:

Income (Night) Auditor - Full-time
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Position Summary:
Our NightAuditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during nighttime hours. This position is responsible for auditing, balancing, and consolidating departmental ledger accounts, preparing various hotel operating reports, and handling the requests and transactions of hotel guests. The NightAuditor ensures that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled, providing essential support to the hotel's financial operations. Additionally, this role involves providing exceptional guest service, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues to enhance the overall guest experience.
Essential Functions:
Post all daily room and outstanding charges.
Balance all revenue totals of cash and credits against revenue report.
Verify and prepare registration cards for arriving guests.
Handle hotel phone system, transfer calls, and take messages for guests as well as hotel staff.
Take, modify, and cancel guest reservations.
Check in/out guests according to hotel and/or brand standards.
Address inquiries, requests, and complaints from guests. Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests.
Notify housekeeping and maintenance of any reported problems with guestrooms and hotel grounds.
Provide information and assistance to guests regarding the hotel and local surroundings.
Create and/or print the required reports.
Verify each front desk shift's transactions.
Finalize transactions completed during the day, including completing a daily income report and daily F&B Revenue Report.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Front Office area.
Perform cashier duties, cash travelers' checks, and post phone charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts.
Follow in-house procedures to help ensure the security of guests and employees. Be knowledgeable about hotel emergency procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands, and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
Employees are required to adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
Education and Experience:

Maintains procedures for security of monies, guest security and emergency procedures.
Receives departmental-related guest complaints and ensures corrective action is taken. Completes brand specific log and follows brand protocol for guest complaints, including escalation to management if needed, and completed follow up.
Performs other assignments as requested.
Adheres to departmental communication through the effective use of staff meetings, logbooks, and bulletin boards.
Audits all accounts to ensure they balance, to include such accounts as tray and city ledger, reservation deposits, credit card accounts, and room, food & beverage, and banquet charges.
Transfers charges and deposits to master accounts.
Closes necessary accounts at month end.
Prepares final reports of all daily revenue summaries.
Posts all room and tax revenues and late charges.
Ensures all revenues, adjustments, taxes and gratuities are accurately distributed from POS system (at some properties)
Operates and/or understands in-house computer systems.
Maintains positive communication with accounting department.
Follows all company policies and procedures as outlined in Policy Manual.
Is skilled in and responsible for Life Safety Procedures and equipment.
Participates (at some properties) in MOD schedule.
