Job DescriptionThe Night/Assistant Manager will assist the Project Manager to oversee all contracted services for a high-profile Fortune 500 Company and will be expected to deliver an exceptional customer experience. This position will be responsible to lead people, processes and programs to drive operational excellence in a complex work environment up to or over 1 million square feet in size. The Assistant Manager will be required to work shifts that could include evenings and weekends. We are looking for someone who adapts quickly to change and can provide win-win solutions for both the client and ABM. A critical thinker who uses good judgement to solve problems and one who can effectively communicate with the client and their team.

Assign tasks to workers based on job requirements as specified by the contract or special assignments requested by the customer.

Ensure company standards are met in compliance with janitorial operations and servicing contractual obligations to customers within specified budget of labor and expense.

Train new staff and oversee on-going training of existing employees in proper cleaning methods and use of equipment, safety practices, and regulations.
Perform daily quality control inspections. Process weekly payroll and ensure payroll is submitted in accordance with State Wage and Hour laws. Complete and submit employee change forms to Human Resources as needed. Assists in safety programs follow-through by Branch Safety Coordinators to ensure compliance with all safety policies. Be aware of the fundamentals of good personnel management. Ensure building is in compliance with all State and Federal guidelines as well as ABM policies. Understand and use proper personnel management skills to resolve problems with personnel. Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Job duties may be modified at any time.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous Management or Supervisory experience Strong MS Office skills required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Training in the specified industry or building management desired. High School graduate or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., navigate around tight spaces, walk or stand for a period of 8-10 hours per day in an environment with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variations

JOB SUMMARY: The primary duty of the Area Manager is to ensure that all routine cleaning operations and special project work is scheduled and completed in their region. This is accomplished by communicating with Site Supervisors, Team Member, and customers. The Area Manager is also responsible for overall quality control and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Plan and schedule coverage for open locations as well as special project work.
  • Ensure all daily cleaning operations are completed, including - coverage for absences and open jobs, and special projects like floor work or construction cleaning.
  • Ensure quality control by monitoring cleaning inspections, performing cleaning inspections, and receiving customer feedback.
  • Train and coach floor techs, site supervisors, and general cleaners.
  • Assist in dealing with employee disciplinary issues, position changes, filling jobs, monitoring/delivering supplies, and any other issues that may come up.
  • Encourage and reward team members for positive attitude, performance and inspections.

QUALIFICATIONS: Above all, honesty and directness in dealing with customers, vendors and Team Members. Must demonstrate abilities in: working independently and being self-motivated; managing others and setting a good example; and interacting with customers, vendors, and other team members. At least 1-2 years of experience in a manager role or a position with supervisory duties.
