Gregg I. Marks studied architecture for S years before setting his sights on the apparel industry. He began his career as a shipping clerk for a coat and suit company and quickly moved up the ranks, assuming various leadership roles in several companies before joining forces with Arthur Levine 1983. Together, Mr. Marks and Mr. Levine built Kasper into a major women's apparel manufacturer along with other notable brands such as, Albert Nipon, Nolan Miller, Dynasty Collection and Le Suit. In 1999, they acquired The Anne Klein company. In 2001, Mr. Levine left the company to pursue other interests and Mr. Marks stayed on as CEO expanding the company's market share, profitability and brand offerings. In 2003 The Jones Apparel Group acquired Kasper and Anne Klein. At this time, Mr. Marks remained as CEO and assumed additional responsibilities including managing Jones' apparel brands (Jones New York, Nine West and Evan Picone) and overseeing all production and sourcing for The Jones Group. In 2014, Sycamore partners purchased The Jones Apparel Group. During the acquisition, Mr. Marks was asked to stay on to create The Kasper Group, running all apparel and the Kasper Retail Stores. Mr. Marks' vision and leadership over the last 30 years has grown the many companies that now make up The Kasper Group into industry leading brands, grossing an annual volume of approximately $400 million dollars.
