Job Description
JOB FUNCTION:
The Regional Service Manager (RSM) leads field operations across a defined multi-state territory, ensuring safe, efficient, and contract-compliant service for industrial water treatment systems. This position manages a team-including Area Supervisor(s), Project Coordinator, Maintenance Technician, and Field Service Technicians-holding full responsibility for safety, regional P&L performance, contract execution, personnel management, and continuous operational improvement through the company's safety and quality systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Lead, coach, and support a regional team to deliver high-quality field service that meets or exceeds contractual and customer expectations.
2. Oversee daily operations including scheduling, site coverage, task execution, and technician utilization, in partnership with the Area Supervisor(s).
3. Manage regional Profit & Loss performance by optimizing labor, travel, and resource allocation; ensure services are delivered efficiently and within budget.
4. Use internal systems such as Task Management software, Intelex, and the Quality System to monitor KPIs and maintain compliance with safety and quality protocols.
5. Act as the point of contact for escalated service issues, customer communication, and execution of contractual obligations.
6. Support project planning and execution through the Project Coordinator for system startups, upgrades, and transitions.
7. Ensure all services are performed safely and in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
8. Lead the hiring, development, and performance management of field staff, promoting a culture of accountability and growth.
9. Review and drive improvements in preventive maintenance, response time, task closure rates, and customer satisfaction.

Lead and manage comprehensive biomedical and imaging equipment service operations across a designated geographic region, ensuring optimal equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth while directing field service teams and maintaining strategic client relationships.
Responsibilities
Regional Operations Management:
Oversee service delivery for biomedical and imaging equipment across multiple healthcare facilities within assigned territory
Manage regional P&L responsibility, including revenue targets, cost control, and profitability metrics
Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve growth objectives and market expansion
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance programs
Team Leadership and Development:
Supervise and mentor field service engineers, biomedical technicians, and support staff (typically 15-25 direct and indirect reports)
Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified service personnel to meet regional staffing needs
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support career development initiatives
Manage training programs to ensure technical competency and certification maintenance
Customer Relationship Management:
Maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, including hospitals, imaging centers, and clinics
Lead contract negotiations, service agreement renewals, and expansion opportunities
Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure service level agreement compliance
Conduct regular business reviews with major clients to assess satisfaction and identify growth opportunities
Technical Operations Oversight:
Ensure timely response to service calls and emergency equipment failures
Monitor key performance indicators including uptime, response times, and first-call resolution rates
Coordinate with technical specialists for complex equipment issues and major installations
Manage inventory levels for spare parts, consumables, and loaner equipment
Financial and Strategic Planning:
Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for regional operations

Requirements:
Travel and Physical Requirements
Extensive travel throughout assigned region (50-70% travel)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration or related field, MBA preferred
