ProcessEngineers enable next generation components and systems related to semiconductor diodes lasers, fiber optic coupled devices, and fiber lasers. Drive continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing environment for new product development, sustained legacy products, and support production as appropriate and coordinate a wide range of cross functional groups. This position is located in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Responsibilities
Coordinates effectively with cross functional groups (Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality) to drive root cause analysis, yield improvements and cost reduction.
Provides technical leadership and support to customer facing teams for resolving customer concerns and business development.
Leads and executes processdevelopment and improvement projects from conception to completion.
Identifies recent external advancements in appropriate technical field and qualifies into production as capable processes.
Supports transition of new products from prototype to volume production utilizing DFSS and DFM.
Drives continuous improvement opportunities and yield metrics utilizing wide variety of analytical techniques (such as SPC, DOE, Gauge R&R), lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts.
Supports manufacturing of released processes and products including generating BOMs and routers, documenting work instructions and support training of personnel.
Evaluates, procures, and qualifies new manufacturing equipment and tools.
Directs daily activities of engineering technicians.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Optical, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Physics) or exceptional industrial experience in closely related technologies.
3+ years of experience in process or product development of laser components, sub-systems, fiber optics, precision optical/electro-mechanical assemblies.
Knowledge and understanding of optical fibers, fiber assemblies and termination, optics, laser diodes and a variety of metrology/characterization/failure analysis techniques.
Hands-on working experience with optical fibers, lasers, optics and precision opto-mechanical systems and tools.
Strong record of problem solving and data analysis through structured methodologies in high order multi-dimensional spaces
Situational leadership skills and ability to work with cross functional & multi-site teams effectively.
Strong command of electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, basic tooling, and fixture design.
Understanding of new product introduction, qualification, and product lifecycle process.
ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt.
In addition to the above qualifications, the ideal candidate embraces teamwork and mentoring opportunities among engineering and operations environments.
Desired:
Hybrid microelectronic packaging experience a plus
Experience with industry standards such as: MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, IPC/J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610, ANSI OP1.002.2009, and ISO 10110-7
Background with the following processes and equipment: die attach/bonding, wire/ribbon bonding, vacuum solder reflow ovens, optical fiber alignment, hermetic seam sealing, solder and epoxies, electro-optical, electro-pneumatic and pressurized gas systems.
ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

Senior ProcessEngineer: $100,000 - $125,000

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The ProcessEngineer - Coatings develops, improves, and supports coating and finishing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production. This role works closely with production teams to optimize process flow, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
The following essential job functions are performed as a ProcessEngineer - Coatings:
Develop, standardize, and maintain coating and finishing processes (painting, powder coating, plating, anodizing, etc.) used in production
Support day-to-day manufacturing operations by troubleshooting coating process issues, implementing corrective actions, and minimizing downtime
Identify and drive process improvements that reduce cost, increase throughput, and enhance quality
Establish and maintain work instructions, process specifications, and operator training documentation
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure coatings meet functional and customer requirements
Work with equipment suppliers and vendors to evaluate and implement new coating technologies or materials
Support qualification and validation of new coating processes and production equipment
Monitor process performance through data collection and analysis; use Lean and Six Sigma methodologies where applicable
Ensure coating operations comply with internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations
Provide training and guidance to operators and technicians on coating applications and process best practices
Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) required
2-5 years of experience in manufacturing processengineering, preferably with coatings, surface treatments, or finishing operations
Understanding of coating application techniques (spray, dip, powder, plating, etc.) and associated curing methods
Experience in process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other structured improvement methodologies
Strong hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and operators
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (AS9100, ISO 9001, automotive, or similar) preferred
Knowledge of coating quality standards (adhesion, thickness, corrosion testing) preferred
Familiarity with NADCAP or customer audits for special processes preferred
Working knowledge of EHS requirements related to coatings and chemicals preferred
Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance.
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Salary range for this role is between $83,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities

Position Summary

What You'll Be Doing
You will play a key role in developing the world's first continuous fuel cycle for commercial fusion energy. This position focuses on building and applying advanced process modeling and simulation capabilities to support fuel cycle process design and system integration. You'll work closely with engineers, scientists, and technicians across the company, with a focus on scaling up and integrating these systems into our commercial fusion platform. You will report to the Fuel Cycle Manager and work onsite at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:
Develop and maintain in-house process simulation capabilities, including property libraries and sub-models for key unit operations
Own fuel cycle process architecture and flowsheet design using steady-state and dynamic simulations to guide equipment sizing and system configuration
Validate and refine simulation models using data from pilot-scale operations to improve model fidelity and predictive accuracy
Support detailed design and specification of process components such as separation columns, catalyst beds, membranes, heaters, pumps, and cryogenic or vacuum systems

What You'll Be Doing
You will play a key role in developing the world's first continuous fuel cycle for commercial fusion energy. This position focuses on building and applying advanced process modeling and simulation capabilities to support fuel cycle process design and system integration. You'll work closely with engineers, scientists, and technicians across the company, with a focus on scaling up and integrating these systems into our commercial fusion platform. You will report to the Fuel Cycle Manager and work onsite at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:
* Develop and maintain in-house process simulation capabilities, including property libraries and sub-models for key unit operations
* Own fuel cycle process architecture and flowsheet design using steady-state and dynamic simulations to guide equipment sizing and system configuration
* Validate and refine simulation models using data from pilot-scale operations to improve model fidelity and predictive accuracy
* Support detailed design and specification of process components such as separation columns, catalyst beds, membranes, heaters, pumps, and cryogenic or vacuum systems
* Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including process design bases, PFDs, H&MBs, P&IDs, simulation results, sensitivity analyses, technical reports, and cost evaluations
* Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement and test process designs
Required Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent experience with strong fundamentals in processengineering
* 5+ years of experience delivering full-scope engineering projects, including managing technical deliverables and schedules
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with chemical process simulation tools (e.g., AVEVA Process Simulation, HYSYS, ProMax)
* Proven ability to apply first-principles thinking and methodical problem-solving in complex engineering environments

What You Will Be Doing:
You will own the development of capacitor manufacturing processes used for energy storage in Helion's fusion generators. The position provides a unique opportunity to develop in-house expertise on all aspects of capacitor manufacturing. You will accelerate Helion's transition from rapid prototyping to generator mass manufacturing, delivering on Helion's mission of providing clean electricity for the planet. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:
You will own capacitor manufacturing processes and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and improve existing and new processes
Working across technical teams to deeply understand how capacitors are used within our pulsed power circuits to optimize capacitor manufacturing process for Helion's top-level generator goals
Develop in-depth technical understanding of capacitor manufacturing processes
Conduct Design of Experiments (DoE) and perform statistical analysis to make data-driven decisions for novel manufacturing techniques
Utilize process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma, SPC etc.) to optimize manufacturing processes
Collect process data and build analysis tools to notify operations teams on process health and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Partner with Design teams to iterate on design and improve Design for Manufacturability
Support integration of our factory MES system with automated manufacturing equipment
Develop manufacturing documentation including but not limited to work instructions, equipment data sheets, troubleshooting guides, controls narratives etc

The Fabrication ProcessEngineer II plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of manufacturing processes at Hunter Douglas.
