The Training Coordinator plays the crucial role of ensuring all new PT-1 EMTs and Paramedics are set up for success when joining our growing team of frontline workers.
ProTranpsort-1 has six stations located throughout Northern California. This position will be based out of Oakland, covering orientation for Oakland, San Francisco, Pleasant Hill, and Santa Clara County new hires. The Training Coordinator aligns FTO and trainee schedules, ensuring that they have all required certifications and are trained effectively and in a timely manner.
This position reports to the Director of Training and QA/QI for California.
Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00/hr. Please note that the reason for this range is that we are considering both EMT and Paramedic applicants.

What you'll be doing:

Provide basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, and use of the automatic defibrillator and assist patients dependent on the situation.

Job Summary

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program
Must be able to communicate and understand English, verbally and written
Two (2) or more years of driving experience
Must possess or receive, and maintain, current certification/licensure in the following:
Current and valid California driver's license
EMT-P certification
CPR through the American Heart Association (instructor-based with AED)
PALS (American Heart Association)
PHTLS (American Heart Association) - required for SF

California Ambulance Driver Certificate (DL 61)
DL51 (Medical Examiners Certificate)

What you'll be doing:
As an EMT-B, you will function within the scope of each county's clinical and operational protocols, as well as abide by all of Royals processes, policies, quality standards and expectations of quality patient care and exceptional customer service.
Provide basic life support, patient assessment, medication administration, airway management, and determine the nature and extent of illness or injury/establish priority for required emergency care and transport.
Engage with healthcare leaders and EMS Providers to ensure continuum of care (Physicians, Nurse Managers, Transfer Center Coordinators, Charge Nurses etc.)
Be prepared to run Code 2's and possible Code 3's
Understand, address and resolve patient/customer needs to ensure the most appropriate treatment and/or course of action

* Must be available for Nights* Basic Functions: Ensure operations are running smoothly through various tasks. Responsibilities: 1. Be an active role model for all field employees at all times. 2. Ensure field crews are adhering to LEMSA and NORCAL Ambulance policies, practices and procedures and issue mentoring, education or discipline when appropriate.
3. Perform field assessments of patients as needed to ensure the safety of our crews and patients during transport.
4. Provide lift assists and ride along on priority calls to ensure the safety of our crews and patients during transport.
5. Troubleshoot equipment and vehicle issues in the field.
6. Troubleshoot transport issues with hospital staff when appropriate.
7. Respond to vehicle accidents and/or Incidents to assist and/or coordinate resources when appropriate.
8. Respond to patient incidents to assist and/or coordinate resources when appropriate.
9. Perform driver training, education and driver remediation's.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty under the Lead FTO and Station Officer job descriptions . Employee must be driver trained.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and completion of certified EmergencyMedicalTechnician (EMT) program Basic or Paramedic.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications/Licenses: State/County Certifications: County certifications for EMT-B or EMT-P, CPR for BLS Provider Certification, Valid California Driver's License, Medical Examiner's Certification, Ambulance Drivers Certification, DMV Driving Record in good standing in accordance to insurance company standards.
Equipment: To perform this job successfully, an individual must use a variety of equipment including gurney, wheelchairs, and other medical and ambulance related devices.
