Enforce inventory checks on receipt and pre-shipment to ensure accuracy, integrity, and uphold client trust. Forecast inbound merchandise arrivals using vendor Advance Shipment Notices (ASNs) and carrier scans. Select the optimal carrier service for each outbound package by balancing speed, cost, and client delivery promise. Surface accurate end-to-end tracking data to clients and internal stakeholders. Manage carrier integrations, and label generation for every package type. Enable data-driven decisions on allocations, inter-warehouse transfers, zone-skipping, and more. The volume, complexity, and immediacy of these decisions create a deeply data-rich playground that rewards both rigor and creativity. About the Role As the Lead Engineer on Fulfillment Platform, you will help to set the technical direction for the systems that orchestrate Stitch Fix's warehouse and transportation networks. The Senior EDI Engineer's key responsibilities are: Business Process Engineering & Integration Design Design, build, and maintain complex Sterling business using BPML to orchestrate multi-step B2B workflows. Build robust process logic including retries, exception handling, acknowledgements (997/999), routing, transformations, and conditional flows. Translate business and operational requirements into scalable, fault-tolerant technical solutions across multiple backend systems. Advanced Problem Solving & Production Support Act as senior escalation point for complex, multi-system production issues including EDI maps, business processes, network connectivity, security, and backend applications. Perform deep root-cause analysis using logs, metrics, and custom diagnostics. Design permanent fixes rather than short-term workarounds, improving platform stability and observability. EDI Mapping & Transformation (Advanced) Design, develop, and optimize complex EDI and non-EDI transformations. Refactor and modernize legacy maps, enforce mapping standards, and build reusable components. Support and migrate existing transactions from legacy EDI platforms to modern B2B architectures. Trading Partner Lifecycle Ownership Lead full lifecycle management of trading partners, including technical onboarding, connectivity, certificates, testing, certification, and production cutover. Maintain partner configurations, schedules, SLAs, and security artifacts. Drive partner migrations, and consolidation initiatives. Platform Monitoring, Performance & Reliability Proactively monitor transaction flows, system health, and KPIs. Tune business processes, adapters, and system configurations to support high-volume, low-latency transaction processing. Improve alerting, monitoring, and operational automation to reduce incidents and mean time to resolution (MTTR). Collaboration, Mentorship & Ownership Serve as the primary technical interface for external trading partners, VANs, and internal application teams. Mentor other team members and provide technical guidance and code/process reviews. Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation, providing expert-level support and operational leadership. Continuous Improvement & Architecture Evolution Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and simplification across B2B workflows. Contribute to the B2B integration roadmap, including API-first integrations, PEM adoption, and modernization of legacy EDI patterns. Evaluate new integration approaches and tools to improve scalability, resilience, and partner experience. Hiring Salary Range: $110,981 - $141,123. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position.
