The primary responsibility of the Standardized Patient is to portray the characteristics of a real patient, simulating all aspects of the created scenarios, primarily in the simulated in-patient setting including history of current problem, affect/behavior and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner. Scenario facts must be accurately memorized, retained, and portrayed. Scenarios may be audio and videotaped for evaluative purposes. The Standardized Patient must be willing to assist with simulation tasks such as resetting scenarios and occasionally offering feedback. This position will work approximately 100-200 hours per academic semester approximately and 50 hours during the summer semester. Comprised of more than 25 faculty and staff, the division also includes interns and student assistants. The Associate Dean for Information Assets plays a strategic leadership role in managing the library's physical and digital collections to support the institution's research, teaching, and learning missions. The position ensures that collections and services are aligned with academic priorities, facilitates discovery and access of library materials, and supports digitization initiatives aimed at preserving and expanding access to unique and historical materials. The role also encompasses scholarly communication, including support for open access publishing and institutional repositories, and ensures that technical services workflows are efficient, innovative and responsive to evolving user needs. The AD will stay abreast of trends in scholarly communications and technical services within the library profession, particularly as they relate to supporting teaching and research in higher education.
