Operates machinery and follows all safety procedures

* Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store
* Stocker: Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights

Student Development
1. Administrative management of a residential service area for 900-2,000 students.

The Challenger Learning Center at Heartland Community College seeks temporary, part-time educators to design and lead hands-on Summer STEM programs for youth in grades 3-8. We are looking for educators with demonstrated experience in STEM instruction who can design and deliver unique, high-quality learning experiences that go beyond activities easily found online. Successful candidates will create and facilitate lessons that are both educational and engaging, fostering problem-solving, collaboration, and exploration.
This is an ongoing applicant pool for Summer 2026 program needs. Applicants should have a proven background in teaching or facilitating science, technology, engineering, or mathematics concepts for young learners.Qualified candidates will be contacted as opportunities arise and may be asked to provide a brief program pitch and written course overview of their proposed summer STEM course or camp. Compensation is provided for instructional time, including setup and tear-down.
Applicants are encouraged to include examples of past lesson plans or descriptions of prior youth STEM programs they have designed or delivered. The Challenger Learning Center values originality, hands-on engagement, and the ability to make science come alive for young learners.
The anticipated pay rate is $30-$35 per contact hour or above.

Crew Member Position Summary:
Provides customers with outstanding, friendly service in a timely manner, and handles orders accurately and in a timely manner
Work Environment:
Hands on store setting

Constant interaction with employees and customers
Experience:
Some experience in a retail or food service environment preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
Maintain product knowledge
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of store (specifically your work area)
Communicate with other team members about product quality, product shortages, and customer comments
Properly portion products, beverages, and paper supplies
Restock paper and packaged items including front line and service areas as needed
Accurately assemble orders
Package orders for take-out
Accurately ring up orders and make change
Perform shift duties assigned by management
Crew Member Requirements:
Bend, stoop, and reach to receive inventory, stock, serve customers and clean store
Stand and walk on a hard surface for up to 8 hours per day
Basic personal computer (PC) knowledge
Ability to read company materials (e.g., recipes, charts, training materials, etc.)
Successful completion of Oberweis orientation and training program
