The Horizons Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN) is an integral component of the inpatient behavioral health program. The RN collaborates with a multi/interdisciplinary team to provide specialized inpatient mental health treatment. The primary goal is to assess/observe/treat and educate patients/families that are experiencing mental illnesses such as depression, dementia with behavioral disturbances, psychosis, and other mental disorders. The Mental Health RN provides treatment to individuals in a structured safe environment. Treatment is individualized to the patient. The RN will provide ongoing medical/ psychological care, crisis intervention, and stabilization. The primary goal is to restore optimal mental health, functioning and recovery. RN supervises unit LPNs, CNAs, and PCAs during shift. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Must be able to take call and respond within 60 minutes. Education and/or Experience: Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Oklahoma or multistate licensure in a party state in compliance with primary residency rules and requirements. American Heart Association BLS and NIHSS required; May have up to 30 days from date of hire or transfer to obtain. CPI Training required; May have up to 1 year from date of hire or transfer to obtain.
