NORMS Restaurants company history timeline
NORMS Restaurants was founded in the year 1949.
The second longest operating NORMS is in Huntington Park (opened in 1959). Located on Slauson Avenue, it’s known for its full-exhibition cooking, a design which allows guests to enjoy a front-row seat and observe the cooks in action.
NORMS is depicted in the 1964 painting “Norms La Cienega on Fire” by Edward Ruscha.
In 1991, NORMS opened in Whittier with a design inspired by the Googie architecture of previous locations.
In the year 2014, the Roybark family sold the family-owned Bellflower-based chain as well.
In the year 2016, the restaurant point n Los Angeles was closed down due to a dispute between the landlord not ready to give the land on lease, as the land was sold over to another owner by the Roybark family for almost $8.2 million.
