Strategic Electronics Buyer/Planner - Data Center MRO (REMOTE)
The Buyer - Data Center MRO will be responsible for sourcing and procuring maintenance, repair, and operational (MRO) components required to support field service, installation, and repair activities for a leading data center OEM. This role ensures critical spare and replacement parts are available and delivered on time to field locations and service teams. The Buyer will identify and secure both common and hard-to-find components, maintain supplier relationships, and support uptime and service continuity across data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
Source, quote, and purchase MRO components, repair parts, consumables, and service materials for data center equipment.
Identify alternate sources and negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply.
Proactively locate hard-to-find or obsolete components through OEM, aftermarket, and broker channels.
Logistics & Delivery Coordination
Ensure parts are shipped, tracked, and delivered to field sites or service centers on time to prevent downtime.
Coordinate with service managers, field technicians, and logistics teams to confirm parts availability and expected arrival dates.
Manage expedited shipments and emergency repair orders with a focus on responsiveness and communication.
Supplier & Inventory Management
Maintain accurate supplier records, price lists, and preferred vendor databases.
Partner with suppliers to ensure product quality, documentation, and compliance with OEM specifications.
Support inventory accuracy by tracking purchase orders, receipts, and stock levels for critical spares.
Continuous Improvement & Process Discipline
Assist in standardizing MRO procurement processes, preferred supplier lists, and stocking strategies.
Analyze spend, lead times, and vendor performance to identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen sourcing agility and service reliability.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Experience: 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in MRO, field service, HVAC, or data center environment.
Proven ability to source components across electrical, mechanical, and controls categories.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and supplier portals.
Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment supporting urgent service needs.
Proficiency with Excel, reporting tools, and ERP (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).

Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the entire cycle counting program, including daily counts and physical inventories.
Ensure the accuracy of perpetual inventory records by identifying and researching discrepancies between system counts and actual physical counts.
Maintain and publish cycle count accuracy reports and other relevant inventory performance metrics to management and stakeholders.
Investigate the root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions within the inventory system.
Maintain and update inventory policies and procedures to support the cycle counting program.
Direct and manage cycle counting staff and material Handlers ensuring they follow procedures and standards.
Oversee efforts to define, set, and maintain system parameters, such as ABC classification codes and count frequencies.
Identify and implement necessary improvements for the successful sustainment of the cycle counting program and inventory control processes.
Lead efforts and provide insights to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
Work closely with warehouse, procurement, and operations teams to maintain inventory integrity and optimize material movement.
Job Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related work experience
3-5 years' work experience in warehousing within manufacturing industry.
Must always have the ability to wear all required PPE.
Must be able to stand, sit, bend and twist for 10 hours a day.
Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, anticipate work to be done, work with minimum supervision and have strong follow-up skills.
Must have proven ability to work as a member of a team.

Position Responsibilities:
* Commission, repair, and service mechanical and electrical equipment associated with new Data Center Cooling projects.
* Review work orders, blueprints, schematic diagrams and related materials to determine tasks to be performed, tools, equipment, and parts needed for installation or repair.
* Demonstrate experience in managing challenging jobs with the objective to mitigate the impact on customer's building/experience while also minimizing the financial burden on the company. This requires working with multiple entities on a job - building owners, general and mechanical contractors, engineers, and local servicing contractors.
* Consult with engineering and manufacturing personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
* Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
* May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
Position Qualifications
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Three to five years' experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; HVAC servicing or similar electromechanical experience preferred
* Ability to travel to various job sites for equipment related service work.
* Ability to serve on an on-call service rotation
* Superior analytical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
* Ability to stay on project through root cause analysis

* Ability to work independently in a timely manner, ensuring job is completed correctly with outside technicians and ability to follow up on parts delivery.
