Assist with on-site distressed pipe analysis and rehabilitation/replacement recommendation; participate in forensics analysis of replaced pipe segments
Assist with engineering tasks related to construction, dam safety, stream flow measurements, structural maintenance, flood monitoring, and other engineering-related projects
Performs inspection, data collection, and instrumentation maintenance on all District dam and levee systems. Responsibilities include reading instrumentation, downloading/trending data preparing site visit condition reports, maintaining tools & equipment and processing data
Coordinate with Survey Personnel for Dam-Related Data Surveys
Work with Operations anode team on CP installation, testing and troubleshooting
Work with Operations dam and levee personnel on instrumentation issues, testing, and troubleshooting
Work with IPL construction team, inspectors and design teams on construction practices and testing
Work with coatings team on methods and testing
Document means and methods, including for data management functions
File and organize records within the department, including writing memos, documenting photos and documenting observations and as-built drawings to reflect current conditions
Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service
Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
Perform other duties as required
Required Experience:
Three (3) years related experience
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Desired Experience:
Pipeline corrosion protection related experience
Confined space training
Background in troubleshooting equipment/instrument issues
Strength in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and writing
Proficient with computer testing equipment and software used for technical data collection, analysis, and management
Dam and/or levee experience related to operations and maintenance
Required Education/Certification/License:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas driver's license
Desired Education/Certification/License:
Cathodic protection experience/certification (NACE CP 1 tester certification)

We are currently seeking a dedicated Meter Technician to join our skilled and passionate team. What You'll Do:
Plan, schedule and coordinate meter upgrades from Transdata to SEL 735. Maintain accurate database(s) on all meters in the field and inventory including programming files, transformer losses, load profile configurations, power quality measures, and communication addresses.
Wire PT and circuits for metering and DFR installations using correct polarity
Do necessary programming and commissioning for meter interface with the RTU and SCADA.
Troubleshoot and repair any Transdata or SEL meters to ensure accurate metering.
Troubleshoot any communication issues, phone line or IP, to assist MV-90 in getting meter data in a timely fashion.
Download HHF files for billing and end of month reads where communications cannot be established.
Perform accuracy tests on Radian test sets every 90 days for ERCOT compliance.
Assists specific member cooperatives with Landis & Gyr PLX troubleshooting, repairs, and decommissioning, as necessary.
Perform power quality audits as part of the PQ monitoring program. Work with member coops to capture and assess power quality issues and help determine a resolution.
Maintain a test schedule to achieve 100% yearly testing on all meters.
Interface with meter engineer on test equipment issues, meter programming changes, and EPS meter site certifications.
Capture, validate and provide field documentation on EPS meters for required records retention by ERCOT.
Provide recommendations for repair or replacement of test equipment.
Maintain a record of distribution and EPS meter testing and yearly test reports. Have this available for reference in the event of an audit or questions regarding meter accuracy.
Obtain ERCOT Qualified Meter Inspector designation after 1yr of testing experience.
