North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists company history timeline

1863

In 1863, the new Sabbath keepers officially organized into a denomination with 3,500 members worshipping in 125 churches.

1874

They soon began sharing their faith outside of North America, first Switzerland in 1874, then in Russia, Ghana, South Africa, Argentina, and Japan.

1979

Classes at the Lake Union Soul-Winning Institute (LUSI) began in the fall of 1979.

1983

In 1983 ownership of the Institute was transferred to the North American Division and was renamed the North American Division Evangelism Institute (NADEI). In addition, a new facility was obtained for the Institute, a set of apartment buildings in LaGrange, Illinois.
