We are currently looking for a VP, Credit Administration Manager to lead our CRE/CND Credit Administration team.
Job Summary
The Credit Administration Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the credit analyst team, ensuring timely and accurate assessment of commercial real estate and construction and development loan transactions. This role ensures adherence to credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards while guiding the team in analyzing financial statements, assessing risk, and making sound credit decisions. The supervisor acts as a liaison between underwriters, loan officers, and executive management, fostering efficient workflows and maintaining high underwriting quality.
What you can expect to work on
Leadership & Team Management:
* Supervise and mentor a team of credit analysts, ensuring their performance meets company standards and objectives.

* Conduct regular team meetings to discuss credit policies, procedures, and updates in regulatory requirements.
* Provide guidance and support in complex underwriting cases, ensuring a balanced approach between risk and business objectives.
* Monitor team workload, ensuring timely processing of loan transactions.
Underwriting Oversight:
* Coordinate with lending staff and credit analysts on high-value, complex real estate transactions to ensure risk and loan structure is appropriate.
* Work closely with the underwriting team to analyze borrower financial statements, borrower cashflows, real estate cash flow, collateral, markets, and credit history to assess risk levels.
* Stay current with real estate industry trends, changes in regulations, and market conditions that could affect underwriting decisions.
* Review credit memorandums prepared by analysts prior to submission.
* Underwrite transactions as needed based on size, complexity and staffing levels.
Process Improvement & Efficiency:
* Continuously assess underwriting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
* Implement best practices for risk management and streamline procedures to meet operational targets.
* Collaborate with other departments (e.g., loan officers, risk management, compliance) to resolve issues and enhance communication.
Compliance & Risk Management:
* Ensure all underwriting practices comply with internal policies, federal regulations, and industry standards.
* Conduct periodic audits and quality control reviews of underwriting decisions to maintain accuracy and adherence to policy.
* Partner with Credit Risk Manager and Chief Risk Officer in evaluating and managing risk management practices within the commercial real estate and residential construction portfolio's.
Training & Development:
* Provide ongoing training to underwriters on real estate analysis, credit analysis techniques, financial statement interpretation, and new regulatory requirements.
* Identify skill gaps within the team and arrange for targeted training or mentoring to close those gaps.
What you offer us
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CBA) are a plus.
* Ten years' experience in commercial real estate and construction and development underwriting, real estate analysis, construction administration or other related experience.
* Experience in analyzing various project types including multifamily, build-to-suit, residential rental portfolios, phased CRE development.
* Minimum two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
* Excellent knowledge of commercial real estate and construction and development lending, regulations and compliance.
* Excellent understanding of a real estate project's profitability and feasibility, and the ability to analyze, and articulate its impacts. This includes the following:
* Understanding the project level performance metrics such as DSCR, debt yield, borrower profitability and yield spreads.
* Understanding cap rates and the impact on values, project performance and asset marketability.
* Understanding various leases including NNN, NN, ground leases, and having the ability to articulate the potential impacts to the bank and borrower.
* Understanding construction budgets, construction timelines, and funding sources and their impacts to a project.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills. This includes the ability to inspire others, provide clear direction, and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of bank systems, technology, and processes.
* Excellent customer service skills.

Manage assigned portfolio of accounts with supervision
Participate in meetings with Wealth Management Consultant (WMC) and Private Client Advisor (PCA) to support ongoing development of new business opportunities that involve Estate Settlement
Participate in client meetings with PCA to support transition of responsibilities to ESA and provide overview of process for beneficiaries
Complete necessary due diligence and coordination of approval or declination to serve as Trustee or Personal Representative in accordance with CT policies and procedures
Manage responsibilities in a way that instills confidence in CT and enhances the ability to retain business upon completion of estate settlement process
With supervision, interpret the governing instrument and applicable law to establish account records, including payment and fee schedules. Write to beneficiaries and co-fiduciaries to outline administrative procedures.
Communicate with portfolio managers regarding investment objectives and liquidity needs

Commercial Loan Servicing (CLS) provides back-office operations support for commercial, business banking, and various specialty lending products. We work directly with the Sales and Credit teams to remove roadblocks and complete operational tasks that allow Commerce to meet the customer's commercial lending needs. CLS operational tasks can include loan document preparation, loan accounting, collateral perfection and monitoring, and legal and regulatory review.
Successful candidates will be assigned to a specific team and tasks within CLS based on business needs and the candidate's skill set.
Essential Functions
Complete a preliminary review of loan submissions to ensure regulatory and legal compliance
Prepare loan documents in accordance with Commerce Bank's credit policy
Interpret complex loan documents to set loans up on the loan accounting system
Post loan transactions and provide account problem resolution
Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting of collateral securing commercial loans
Complete a post-closing review to ensure all documents comply with regulatory requirements and Commerce Bank policy
Collaborate with internal and external business partners to improve service levels

The main purpose of this job is to perform the day-to-day processes related to the collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure/real estate owned (REO), and bankruptcy functions. Prepare Foreclosure Recommendation and submit to senior management for approval, review legal documents and progress of each loan in foreclosure and contact legal counsel to resolve issues. Fully document activities in Foreclosure/REO Workstations and promptly and accurately prepare mortgage insurance claims.
Work directly with vendors to procure completion of property preservation items and ensure work is completed in a timely fashion and in full compliance with company and investor requirements

About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to analyze commercial credits by conducting comprehensive financial analysis on companies of diverse industries and sizes. You'll work with seasoned Commercial Bankers and Portfolio Managers to prepare Credit Approval Summary packets for loan committees for all assigned markets requiring a high degree of accuracy. Essential Functions
Work as part of an agile development team to analyze, design, create, code, and maintain a full-stack software application
Collaborate and network with over 20 IT teams that support the bank
Partner with your peers and mentor to complete projects and duties
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
General understanding of principles in one or more programming language such as Java or C#
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
