In this position, you will provide shift accountability for the clinical, administrative, and human resources activities for the Advanced Practice Provider Services (APPs) and to provide support to departmental leadership. To practice in an advanced role and coordinate the delivery of high-quality, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate patient care within the designated service area. Qualifications: • TX PA license with the TX Medical Board or Master's Degree in Nursing • Licenses/Certifications: FNP - Cert-Family Nurse Practitioner Texas Board of Nursing or NNP - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Texas Board of Nursing or WHNP-BC - Cert-Women's Health Care NP Texas Board of Nursing or PNP-BC - Cert-Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Texas Board of Nursing or NP - Nurse Practitioner Texas Board of Nursing or CPNP-AC - Cert-Pediatric NP Acute Care Texas Board of Nursing or PA - Cert-Physician Assistant Texas Medical Board • 2 years experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant. *Physician Assistant strongly preferred and IR experience strongly preferred. Job Duties & Responsibilities: • Patient Care: Responsible for all patient-focused activities in the designated service area, including (but not limited to) assessments, procedures, interpretation of data, and patient/family counseling. Maintains own clinical competencies as required by medical staff privileging. • Organizational Priorities: Ensures organizational and medical staff standards of competencies and quality and safety initiatives are met, by participating in the competency process through Med Staff and developing of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines to optimize APP practice within the institution. • Quality & Safety / Evidence-Based Practice & Research / Education: Facilitates delivery of safe, effective, and patient/family-centered care that is timely, efficient, and equitable. Improves patient care through scientific inquiry and by incorporating evidence-based practice into direct patient care. Promotes the education of health and illness by contributing to APPs, student organizations, and universities. • Transformational Professional Practice: Promotes transforming professional practice through promotion and dissemination of health care knowledge beyond the individual practice setting • Credentialing & Regulatory Practice: Oversees regulatory function of the APP role including monitoring of licensure, credentialing, certification, billing and coding, reimbursement, and other regulatory requirements • Leadership: Leads, develops, coaches, and counsels assigned staff in the designated service areas; oversees clinical scheduling for designated areas to ensure adequate patient coverage; approves payroll requests within the assigned areas; shares responsibility with departmental leadership for input into the annual budgeting process; and creates value through service excellence and recognition; fosters partner relationships for employees Level Definition: Level II (job code 7891) FTEs supervised: Approximately 11+Percent of time spent in staffing: Average of 80%
