North Cobb Christian School company history timeline

1983

Each year, more non-church members sent their children to the growing school, so in 1983 it was decided that the school would be better served by breaking away from Grace Brethren Church.

1984

Housed within Grace Brethren Church in Marietta, NCCS received its official nonprofit status, elected a board of directors, and joined the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) in 1984.

1987

In 1987, 10 acres of land was purchased near the borderline of Acworth and Kennesaw, and construction began.

1989

In 1989, NCCS’s first eighth-grade class graduated! Enrollment continued to climb.

1995

In 1995, at 300 students, a critical need emerged for enlarged space and expanded learning environments.

1996

With exploding growth, NCCS kicked off a capital campaign in 1996 to finance an addition that added 30 classrooms, a gymnasium, science lab, media center, two cafeterias and office space.

1997

The school opened its doors in the fall of 1997 to high school students, adding one grade level each year.

1998

High school classes began in the fall of 1998.

2000

With a total school enrollment of 910, the first senior class of North Cobb Christian School graduated in 2000.

2007

Head of School Todd Clingman joined the Eagle family in 2007.

2013

In 2013 a new campus was introduced, with a natatorium, a stadium plaza, tennis courts, and new buildings for every major division of the NCCS curriculum (high school, middle school, lower school, and preschool).

2020

The cutting-edge, 38,000-square-foot NCCS Upper School was unveiled in 2020, complete with a STEM Center, SOAR Lab, and MakeShop designed to foster 21st century innovation and collaboration.
