April Alvarez-Corona, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer for North Country HealthCare. She is also a pediatrician at our Winslow location. Previously, she was a Deputy Chief Medical Officer at North Country HealthCare for three years. Although originally from Los Angeles, she has lived in Arizona since 1987 and attended the University of Arizona for undergraduate and post-graduate training. She has been committed to working with underserved patient populations since entering her medical training and has worked clinically at three community health centers in Arizona. While her clinical focus is on preventative care and adolescent medicine, her passion is organizational quality of care and staff retention for the overall benefit of patient outcomes.

Gregory Kuzma, CPA is the Chief Financial Officer for North Country HealthCare. Prior to this, Mr. Kuzma was with Northern Arizona Healthcare, a system with two acute care hospitals and 382 combined beds, for 22 years in various roles beginning in 1992, including Vice-President/Chief Financial Officer from 2004 to 2014 and Director of Financial Planning from 1993 to 2004. Prior to joining Northern Arizona Healthcare, Mr. Kuzma worked in finance and accounting, in three different service and manufacturing businesses. Mr. Kuzma received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Arizona State University in 1984 and his Masters of Business administration degree from Northern Arizona University in 1991. Mr. Kuzma is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona.

Jon Smith is the Chief Information Officer at North Country HealthCare. He is a Flagstaff native who served 9 years in the United States Marine Corps, before settling down in Southern California in 2014. After 18 months with Hewlett Packard, he transitioned into the healthcare industry with North County Health Services (NCHS) in Southern California, where he served as the Vice President of IT and acting CIO. During his time at NCHS, Jon’s experience, innovation, and strategic thinking completely transformed the HIT department.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix, with an emphasis in Information Systems Security.

Marti Neff is the Chief Operations Officer at North Country HealthCare. One of her responsibilities is to oversee expansion and implementation of new services in each of our service locations. She also plays a key role in the addition of new clinics. She brings over 22 years of experience in medical management to North Country HealthCare. This experience allows her to understand the needs of each clinic at the ground level. Prior to working at North Country HealthCare she was the clinic manager of the Family Healing Center in Holbrook. In 2007, North Country acquired the Family Healing Center. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Management and a Masters of Arts degree with an emphasis in leadership, both from Northern Arizona University.
