Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include notifying management of need for repairs. Tasks: Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them as per each individual account specification and supervisor's instruction. Gather and empty trash. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Skills: Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. We are a small, private facility for the young children of teachers and staff at Riverdale Country School, Fieldston and Horace Mann. We have a staff of 6 and care for up to 15 children, ages 3 -35 months old. We divide the children loosely by age into two groups, but much of the day we are truly a mixed-age setting. The number and ages of children vary slightly from year to year.
