Job Overview
The Laundry Attendant processes, washes, dries, irons and folds linens and other items in safe and efficient compliance with policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations. Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.
What you'll be doing
Laundry Operations:
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, bed sheets, and other hotel laundry items according to established procedures.
Handle laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding tables, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
Quality Control:
Inspect laundered items to ensure they meet quality standards, addressing stains, tears, or other issues as needed.
Follow specific instructions for handling delicate fabrics or special items to prevent damage.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an organized inventory of clean and ready-to-use linens and towels to meet the demands of guest rooms, dining areas, and other hotel departments.
Keep track of linen counts, reorder levels, and replenishment schedules.
Equipment Maintenance:
Clean and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
Follow safety protocols when operating laundry machinery.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with housekeepers, Housekeeping Housepersons, and other hotel departments to ensure a steady supply of clean linens and towels for guest rooms, restaurants, and event spaces.
Skills and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
Knowledge of different fabrics, laundering techniques, and proper garment care.
Attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, damage, or quality issues.
Basic understanding of laundry equipment and machinery.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy laundry bags.
Commitment to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.

Assistants must help Orthodontists to clearly see problems and changes within a patient's mouth. This often requires taking x-rays of the bone structure of a patient's jaw, as well as taking photographs of the teeth and creating molds of a patient's bite.
They also ensure that the necessary tools are sterilized and in place, and keep a patient's mouth clean and dry during procedures and will hand an orthodontist the necessary tools at the appropriate time.
