    Associate EMR Specialist Pensacola, FL • North Florida Surgeons Description Overview of the Role: North Florida Medical Services (located in Mandarin/Jacksonville, FL) is a growing management services organization which provides revenue cycle services to surgical group practices. Our growing company is in need of an Associate EMR Specialist to help us support both existing providers as well as providing on-boarding support to newly added practitioners. This position is supporting offices located from Panama City through Pensacola. The Associate EMR Specialist is responsible for supporting the successful implementation and end user utilization of athena Net EMR. The Associate EMR Specialist will work closely with end-users and IT team to understand functional business requirements, develop and deliver high quality training, workflows, and configure and customize athena Net content to support these needs. The purpose of the Associate EMR Specialist role is to ensure both complete understanding of the product functionality, as well as full utilization of those by the end users in their individual roles. This position will also assist in continuously improving functionality and compliance within the system. Primary Job Duties: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical EMR, athena Net, and ancillary applications. Configure and customize clinical content within athena Net. Accountable for clinician adaptation to and optimization of the documentation and ordering tools within the EMR applications. Assist with new projects such as onboarding new providers and departments. Create and maintain Athena training materials as necessary. Coordinate and lead successful training sessions with end users. Review, revise, and redeploy training as necessary. Ensure training compliance by tracking and managing new user attendance. Proactively manage communications for these items. Test and troubleshoot new modules, upgrades, and patches in EMR applications. Provide daily support to end users through troubleshooting, coaching, and consulting to facilitate the implementation, integration, and optimal use of Athena. Work with IT staff to analyze, plan, test, recommend and implement hardware and software directly related to electronic health systems. Document, track and take appropriate actions to address service issues in athena Net to close or escalate athena Net service issues in a timely manner. Assist with testing and troubleshooting all aspects of athena Net Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including; HIPAA, Scope of Practice, Accreditation Standards, OSHA, and the Agency's Policies & Procedures. Participate in, and make recommendations for, workflow process improvement and/or redesign efforts. Assist in various reporting functions, using both native Athena tools and external reporting tools. Consult with Senior EMR Specialist and IT Manager for issues that require additional assistance as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two or more years of clinical and/or managed care experience. Understanding of clinical terminology. Strong written and oral communications skills. Training experience with both frontline staff and advanced medical professionals. Knowledge of ambulatory healthcare operations including referrals, scheduling, registration, check-in, insurance and patient billing operations, and patient encounters. Experience using Microsoft (MS) Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Able to travel to locations through-out Florida, reliable transportation needed. Desired Qualifications: Application support experience Experience with athena NET preferred Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic or doctor's office is preferred. Job Type: Full-time
