Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology (EEOB) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University (ISU) seeks an integrative biologist working on the effects of environmental change on ecological or organismal health. The ideal candidate will have an integrative research program at any biological scale, from molecules to ecosystems, using any mixture of advanced experimental, computational, and/or analytical approaches and technological tools (e.g., artificial intelligence, remote sensing, environmental informatics, predictive modeling, and/or environmental genomics). Research should address pressing societal questions about organism responses to environmental change, disease risk, environmental resilience, adaptability, evolutionary medicine, ecological health and well-being, epigenetics, or other related topics. The successful candidate is expected to establish an externally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate education, including an introductory course in environmental health and an advanced course in an area of expertise. This is a tenure-track 9-month position at the rank of assistant professor, with a tenure-home appointment in EEOB (100%).
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent in ecology, evolutionary biology, or closely related field by the time of hire.
Publications in nationally or internationally recognized journals.

This position is one of six positions in a cluster hire that will have research and teaching responsibilities, along with affiliations with the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) and the Iowa State Extension farm management team. The approximate division of responsibilities for this position is 62% extension, 25% research, 8% teaching, and 5% service. The home college for the position is the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The individual in this position is expected to develop a nationally recognized extension and research program in the economics of cooperatives and agricultural supply chains and will hold the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives Endowed Economics Professorship. The extension program will be expected to address critical agricultural issues relevant to the cooperative system at the state, regional, and national level, including the development of leadership, strategic planning, and financial competency skills in cooperative and agribusiness leaders. The individual will maintain one or more active projects under the auspices of the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station.
The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate across departments, extension units, and university centers. The research and teaching activities are envisioned to be synergistic with the extension activities. A natural outcome of these activities will be applied extension materials targeting producers, agribusiness professionals, and other relevant groups; original research in agricultural economics leading to publications in appropriate refereed journals and other professional outlets; and presentations at professional conferences. The successful candidate will be expected to generate extramural funds to support extension and research activities. Opportunities will exist to direct graduate student research and serve on graduate academic plan committees. The candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The teaching assignment is expected to be approximately one course per year on average.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Economics, Agricultural Economics or related field
Associate Professor:

Position Description
As a collaborative partner with the Regional Superintendent of Schools, Chief Strategic Growth and Communications Officer, Chief Development Officer, and school Principals, the Regional Director of External Affairs will champion and direct the strategic initiatives encompassing marketing and communications, community engagement, government relations, philanthropy, and student enrollment for all Horizon Science Academies across Iowa. Tasked with propelling the region towards expansion and innovation, the Director will fortify its local and statewide significance, aligning with its core mission. The Regional Director of External Affairs will report to the Regional Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities
Student Enrollment: Monitor school enrollment, and collaborate with school and network leaders to ensure annual enrollment targets are met
Developing Communication Strategies: Create comprehensive communication strategies to effectively convey the charter school's mission, values, programs, and achievements to various stakeholders, including parents, students, staff, community members, and policymakers.
Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with local media outlets to generate positive coverage of the charter school, respond to media inquiries, and draft press releases or statements as needed.
Community Engagement: Lead efforts to engage with the local community, including organizing outreach events, attending community meetings, collaborating with local organizations, and fostering partnerships to support the charter school's goals.

Qualifications
