Overview

Has documented experience as a nurseassistant in the past three (3) years; or has documented experience in a current healthcare setting providing clinical care under supervision. Exceptions may be reviewed and approved by Nursing Leadership.
Has completed a professional or licensed practical nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country.
UAP's from staffing agencies shall comply with the position requirements.
If the above criteria are not met, the incumbent is prohibited from providing direct patient care to any acute care patients undergoing a procedure in the outpatient setting.

Overview
Medical Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under direct supervision of a physician, APRN, PA, or RN. Assignment of job responsibilities are delegated by the medical provider, RN, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager or Resource Manager assigned to supervise the Care Assistant and in accordance with this job description.

Responsibilities
* Provides supportive patient care.
* Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficient and safe operations.
* Performs clerical functions.
* Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
* Shares responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel (within own skill level).
Qualifications
* HS diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years experience 1 year of experience in patient or customer facing roles
* Other Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
* BLS certification Required Upon Hire
* Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
* Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Required Upon Hire

Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $19.68/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

What You Bring to the Table:
* Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent and Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
* Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, or CCMA) - Required at time of hire and must be maintained.
* Certification: Current BLS Certification (or ability to obtain before starting).
* Knowledge & Skills - Knowledge of POCT, Immunizations, and Injections - You'll be giving shots like a pro!
* Strong Problem-Solving Skills - You think on your feet and adapt quickly.
* Excellent Organization & Time Management - You keep things running like a well-oiled machine.
* Customer Service Rockstar - Patients feel comfortable and cared for in your hands.
* Tech-Savvy - Comfortable with Microsoft applications and EMR systems.
* Radiology Certification (if applicable) - If the role requires X-ray functions, you must have radiology training from your MA program or a validated competency checklist.
