NorthCare history
NorthCare company history timeline
Incorporated as a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1980, NorthCare is governed by a community-based board of directors.
In 2009, the partnership received federal funding through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s Integrated and Primary Health project.
In 2012 NorthCare launched the Family KINnections through a federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The program provide services to strengthen kinship placements and reduce state dependence on foster care.
Q Space, an LGBTQ+ youth outreach center offers support groups and education opportunities was developed in 2017.
In 2018 NorthCare Pete White Health and Wellness Center was opened as one of the MAPS 3 senior wellness centers in Oklahoma City.
NorthCare was the recipient of the 2020 ONE Award Health Care Category, given by the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits in recognition of superior leadership and exceptional service to their constituents and communities Out of almost 19,000 nonprofits statewide, only twenty-one were named finalists.
