Guardian Fleet Services is looking for a new team member to join us. The Fleet Maintenance Director manages maintenance related operations and personnel for various locations. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the location is following and properly executing all key company processes, Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Repair Practices. We are looking for a candidate that has past experience and can help us improve our current maintenance systems.
Responsible for the oversight of work analysis, maintenance facilities, hiring and staffing of technicians, scheduling and assigning work to mechanic staff, productivity tracking and optimization, shift and shop meetings.
Help develop Shop Management Online system and ensure data integrity.
Coordinate efforts with local Safety and Corporate Safety.
Facilitate movement of equipment between division ensuring proper inspections and delivery of equipment in ready condition
Directly involved in strategic Labor Planning by evaluating needs and allocating resources, balancing shift schedules, establishing operating hours, and level loading workload to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Control repair, inventory, and labor costs
Work with vendor sourcing group to identify potential and preferred vendors for vehicle maintenance services
Facility management, assuring a clean and safe working environment
Responsible for Parts Inventory management, policies, and procedures
Evaluates needs and makes recommendation for shop tooling and equipment requirements
If needed, Provides training to the management team
Evaluates and makes recommendations for future staffing based on changes to the business environment
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Four years of experience in maintenance and repair of multi-operational fleet, equipment, to include two years of administrative and supervisory experience, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Valid Florida driver license required
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required Time management skills
Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
May on occasion be required to exert physical effort involving lifting/moving objects that may weigh 20 pounds, stooping, reaching, carrying, and pushing.
