Position Summary The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facility, staff, patients, and visitors. Reporting to the Security Sergeant and Director of Security, this role includes routine patrols, emergency response, de-escalation, and active enforcement of hospital policies to promote a secure healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Control access to the facility and admit only authorized individuals
Conduct regular patrols of buildings and surrounding grounds
Inspects all doors, windows, and exits to identify security risks
Monitor delivery and receipt of packages to prevent theft
Secure restricted areas and document checks in security logs
Respond to alarms and emergency codes (e.g., Code Red, 777)
Apply verbal de-escalation and physical intervention when necessary
Operate hospital vehicles for internal transportation needs
Report safety hazards or incidents and complete written documentation
Unlock areas for authorized personnel as requested
Participate in mandatory training and professional development
Maintain and inspect assigned security equipment

Qualifications

Overview
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is hiring a Community Recovery Specialist to support our Miracles in Progress Residential Program, serving adults in addiction recovery. This part time behavioral health role is ideal for individuals passionate about recovery support, peer engagement, and community reintegration.
Our program provides structured behavioral health and addiction recovery services for individuals experiencing homelessness. We deliver evidence based, culturally responsive care that supports long term recovery, stability, and wellness.
Position Summary
The Community Recovery Specialist provides direct supervision, peer support, and recovery focused services to residents in a residential behavioral health setting. This is a hands-on role supporting individuals through treatment, relapse prevention, and transition back into the community.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide one on one peer support to residents in recovery
• Conduct group sessions focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and life skills
• Orient new admissions and provide ongoing program support
• Assist nursing and counseling staff with daily schedules and resident needs
• Conduct room checks, safety rounds, and behavior monitoring
• Support urine collection, package inspection, and basic health monitoring as needed

Qualifications
• Minimum of 12 college credits in Behavioral Health, Human Services, or a related field OR certification as a Peer Specialist or Recovery Specialist required

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
• Strong de-escalation and communication skills
• Comfortable using electronic documentation systems
• Knowledge of 12 Step Recovery programs, including AA and NA

• Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field• Minimum 2 years of experience in substance use treatment, counseling, or human services• Experience working in outpatient, methadone, or MAT programs strongly preferred• Knowledge of addiction recovery, co-occurring disorders, ASAM criteria, and trauma-informed care• Strong group facilitation, documentation, and clinical assessment skills• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred• Relevant certification or licensure preferred but not required
