JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Have a working knowledge of the current Student and Staff Handbook. * Greet visitors to the school and obtain the visitor's appropriate identification before entering the premises. * Assist the teaching staff in maintaining an atmosphere conducive to learning. * Assist in the protection of the health, safety, and well-being of students and district personnel. * Monitor the corridors, assembly, and parking areas by constantly circulating in and outside the building. * Regularly monitor restrooms, areas of student congregation, and identity problem areas to prevent congestion, loitering, disruptive behavior, use or possession and/or distribution of alcohol or other prohibited materials, and potential tardiness to classes. * Escort any unauthorized persons to the Principal/Vice Principal's office. * Assist students and other authorized persons in getting to their proper destinations and reporting anyone who refuses, in writing. * Immediately report any vandalism or damage to school property to the Director of Building and Grounds as well as the principal. Inform the principal of observed deliberate acts of vandalism or inappropriate behavior of students. * Assist in preventing any destruction of school property and submit in writing reports of any damage detected. * Assist in monitoring traffic flow at the opening and/or closing of the school day. * Assist in monitoring the arrival and/or departure of school buses at the opening and closing of the school day. Coordinate and assist in the general supervision of the cafeteria and student lunch program. * Assist sick or injured students to the proper area. * Assist in the quelling of a fight or any other disturbance. * Assist in fire drills in the orderly exit and entrance of all students. * Maintain confidentiality of student and faculty information. * Provide input for discipline prevention programs. * Maintain a rapport with law enforcement agencies and community/business groups. * Assist the administration by monitoring our camera systems. * Assist the administration during Evacuation and Intruder in the Building drills and provide progress reports of the same. * Be a proactive team player with other security staff members * Performs all other duties as may be assigned by the administration. * Salary - Salary for this position shall be in accordance with the current agreed-upon collective bargaining agreement.
