Maintains constant surveillance of the pool area. Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff. Displays professional appearance at all times and dresses according to requirements (approved swimsuit, jacket, and shirt). Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area. Ensure all participants wear appropriate swim attire and footwear Make sure that first time swimmers are swim tested and wear appropriate flotation devices as necessary If you feel that there is a medical condition that requires further investigation or physician's approval, refer it to the Aquatics Director. Works to maintain a high level of cleanliness of deck, structures, equipment, etc. Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code.
