We are seeking an experienced QC Representative to join our team in east Houston. The QC Representative reports to the Production Supervisor of their respective warehouse and inspects value-added finished products to ensure the product meets all the customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
Inspects products to ensure that they meet company and customer quality standards
Ensures products meet customer expectations on company objectives
Rejects all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
Completes nonconformance reports when a product does not meet customer quality standards
Completes quality reports to document compliance or errors of product inspected
Communicates the results of inspections and puts forward corrective suggestions
Labels parts as specified by the customer and company quality system
Palletizes and/or bundles finished products for shipment to customers
Reviews shipments and accompanying documents for quality and accuracy
Transports and/or loads finished products (manually and/or using forklifts and overhead cranes)
Additional duties as assigned including but not limited to: palletizing, deburring
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
2+ years of related experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to read and understand company and customer drawings
Strong math aptitude and ability to accurately utilize measuring instruments such as measuring tape and caliper
Extensive product and industry knowledge (carbon steel plate, burning, rolling, and beveling) preferred
Professional communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis and handle materials safely as part of daily job duties.
Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain safe body positioning while performing tasks and moving through the work area, including walking on concrete floors and uneven surfaces.
Frequent squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, requiring full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength to perform work safely.

A Brief Summary of This Position:
This position reports to the Quality Supervisor. The NDT Inspector will evaluate the assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks, visual inspection of welds and conduct nondestructive testing by ultrasonic, mag particle, and liquid penetrant processes, with knowledge working under a fully certified Level II Inspector or higher. Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office, shipping area and all areas of the plant which are producing product line for the company. There is a relatively constant exposure to somewhat disagreeable work conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold as well as noise levels above 80 decibels. Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant assigned to work in. There will be visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year.

Scope of Responsibility:

* Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime.
* Perform final inspection to ensure all products are free of uncoated areas, acid spots, lumps, projections, globules, edge tears, spikes or heavy deposits of zinc which will interfere with intended use of the product.
* Measure the thickness of final product and document according to the quality program guidelines.
* Conduct all inspections in accordance with Sabre Galvanizing Work Instructions, SOP's, and associated ASTM specifications with regard to specific customer requirements that may go above and beyond the standard.
* Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
* Must use good judgment, follow instructions and have good problem-solving abilities.
