In addition to acting as the curator and cultivator of a superior collection of legal resources comprised of nearly one million volume equivalents - including one of the nation's largest foreign and international law collection, LA Law Library serves as a gateway to legal information and a navigator facilitating access to the legal system for those who do not have or cannot afford legal representation. Our staff serves more than 100 thousand patrons annually, both nationally and globally, and the number continues to grow daily as new programs and workshops are developed with the assistance of our many partners to provide innovative legal research technology and services. POSITION INFORMATION LA Law Library currently seeks an energetic, flexible, and team-oriented part-time Library Associate. The successful candidates should demonstrate excitement about outreach, education and serving the public, possesses experience and the aptitude for excellent customer service, preferably within a public library setting, and has a willingness to learn. They will provide qualified assistance and referrals to users in navigating law-related library resources and websites while also possessing the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a busy library environment with a minimum of supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Library Associate responsibilities are divided into four (4) primary categories: Program Development; Outreach; Administrative; and, Direct Patron Services and other responsibilities. These activities are performed under limited supervision and employ proactive thinking, sound judgment and diplomacy. Preferred Qualifications + Experience working in the utility industry, with knowledge of operational and regulatory environments. + Two or more years of experience supporting construction projects. + Experience working with construction design work orders. + Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SAS Project Tracker, and Design Manager (DM). + Experience and working knowledge with SAP, including navigation and transaction codes for project related functions. + Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite product, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. + Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel advanced functions, such as: Sum-Ifs, V-Lookups, Index/Match, Pivot Tables, and/or Macros. + Experience providing high level analytics, including statistical analysis and visual analytics to understand areas of improvement. + Experience and ability to prepare and maintain spreadsheets in excel for tracking of work orders, construction, or tasking. + Experience with the cancellation and close out process as it relates to project Work Orders. + Experience and ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-urgency projects simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail. + Excellent internal and external communication and collaboration skills, with experience working on cross-functional teams. Additional Information + This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. General Purpose A District Lineman is a Journeyman who is qualified as, and performs all the functions of a Journeyman, and is in charge of and resides inside or within ten (10) road miles of their service area apart from a local or district headquarters. Responsibilities As a Journeyman Lineman you will install, maintain and repair all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment, both overhead and underground, while utilizing line trucks, aerial boom, lifts and wire pulling equipment. Maintenance of lines and services will require pole climbing, hot sticking, and working out of truck mounted bucket lifts to construct, repair or maintain line equipment or string, splice and sag wire on live or dead circuits. Operates switches, cutouts and uses grounding devices to work on de-energized lines and equipment. You may train and direct the work of a trainee in the trade. Requirements * Completion of a formal training program for a Journeyman Lineman. Must meet examining board review of skills and experience. * Must own, or be able to obtain, a Class A Commercial Driver's License. * Two to four years experience as a Journeymen Lineman. * Must live inside or within ten (10) miles of the service area. This position may require a post-offer, pre-placement physical capacity screening, conducted by a licensed physical therapist, to assure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job. The screening will assess only the identified physical demands of the job being applied for. Physical Demands The job duties of Lineman require lifting in excess of 75 lbs from floor to waist and waist to overhead, carrying in excess of 75 lbs with both hands, and pushing and pulling in excess of 100 lbs of exertional force. Job duties of the Lineman require sustained, awkward positions/postures including bending and twisting at the waist and neck; reaching forward, to the side, across the body and overhead. Additional requirements of the Lineman position include forceful grip and pinch; manipulation of small objects; balancing on one or both legs during dynamic activities; manipulation of large objects during activities requiring balance and sustained awkward postures.
