Under the supervision of the CFO or Controller, the Accounting Specialist supports NICOR's day-to-day accounting operations for the company and its related entities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records through account reconciliations, transaction processing, and journal entries, while assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities.
The Accounting Specialist plays an important role in supporting cash management and compliance by processing ACH and wire transfers, assisting with tax payments, and preparing regular cash activity reports. This position requires strong attention to detail, discretion in handling confidential financial information, and consistent alignment with NICOR's quality standards and internal controls.

A Day in the Life
As an Accounting Specialist, your day may include reconciling bank accounts, processing accounts payable and receivable activity, or posting journal entries to support the month-end close. You may prepare cash reports, follow up on invoice or payment discrepancies, or coordinate with other departments to clarify financial information.
Some days are more routine and process-driven, while others require problem-solving and follow-up. Throughout it all, you'll work closely with the accounting team to keep things running smoothly and accurately.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Accounting Specialist supports the accuracy and integrity of NICOR's financial records through daily, monthly, and year-end accounting activities. This role works collaboratively across teams and focuses on keeping financial data complete, accurate, and compliant.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Accounting Specialist will:
Utilize SHIMS and PHOCAS software for job-related activities, maintaining functionality and accuracy.
Communicate effectively with departments across NICOR's staff in a positive and professional manner.
Ensure all processes comply with the company's quality programs.
Assist with the monthly Agent Commission statement preparation
Assist with the close-out of monthly and end of year reconciliations
Prepare documentation for annual audits
Provide support in maintaining accurate, up-to-date employee payroll records and preparing related payroll journal entries.
Support the processing and documentation of credit card and cash-related entries
Minimum Job Requirements
Associate's degree in accounting or a related field
Minimum of three (3) years of general accounting experience, including journal entries and month-end close activities
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered.
Solid experience using Microsoft Office applications, with a strong focus on Excel
Knowdlege, Skills and Abilities
The Accounting Specialist must have strong account analysis and problem-solving skills. Confidentiality is essential, and the ability to maintain sensitive data is critical. The role requires proficiency in 10-key typing by touch and communication skills. Additionally, the Accounting Specialist should be able to manage tasks under pressure, multitask effectively, and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically performed in an office setting, with occasional physical effort required. Primary Purpose
The Director, Culture & Inclusion and Talent Management is a strategic, data-driven enterprise leader responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance inclusion, employee experience, and leadership capability across Exelon. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Press Operations and Setup
Setup: Mount and register printing plates, install anilox rolls, adjust ink pumping systems, and prepare doctor blades according to job specifications.
Operation: Operate the flexographic press (e.g., W&H, Bobst, Comexi) at optimal speed to achieve production targets while maintaining excellent print quality, registration, and color consistency at optimum web speed without compromising quality.
Substrate Management: Handle large, wide rolls of substrate, including loading and unloading using roll-handling equipment (forklift and roll lifts).
Monitor web tension, treating systems (e.g., corona/plasma), and drying systems. No experience with treating systems is required.
Ink Management: Experience with Solvent based inks a prerequisite, Client does not use water based inks Viscosity checks and adjust Mix and manage solvent- based inks, ensuring color match to specified Pantone standards or approved targets using spectrophotometers. Company uses only solvent based inks, so water based ink experience isn't required.
2. Quality Control and Compliance
Inspection: Continuously monitor print quality for defects such as mis-registration, color variations, haloing, dirty print, skips, and streaking.
Measurement: Use precision instruments (spectrophotometers, densitometers and micrometers) to verify color, density, and registration. No stroboscope = video web inspection only.
Documentation: Accurately complete all production paperwork, including run reports, quality checks, material usage, and downtime logs.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, including proper handling of flammable materials (solvents/inks) and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and print-related issues, making appropriate adjustments or escalating complex problems to maintenance personnel.
Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the press, including cleaning ink pans, anilox rolls, plate cylinders, and maintaining the press area to 5S standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating wide web (50"+) multi-color CI flexographic printing presses. Experience with solvent-based inks is essential.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of flexographic printing principles, plate mounting techniques, anilox selection, and color theory.
Mechanical Aptitude: Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve press operational issues promptly.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle large rolls of material using assisted equipment. Must be able to distinguish colors accurately.
Work Ethic: Highly dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working effectively without supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Overview

This is an execution-focused trade compliance role, not a coordination or administrative position. The Fuel Boat Pilot ensures the safe and efficient operation and performance of his crew, vessel, and tow in a manner that complies with company policy, U. S. Coast Guard rules and regulations, and federal, state, and local laws.
Fuel Boat Pilot Responsibilities include the following:
Ensure that company policy, rules and regulations are followed.

Ensure fire extinguishers are recharged or refilled as required for each type of extinguisher.
Ensure fire hose with nozzle is at each fire station.
Ensure dewatering pumps are on board the vessel and ready for use.
Ensure adequate number of approved life preservers are on board.
Ensure adequate quantity of first aid supplies onboard the vessel.
Ensure crewmembers are properly trained in emergency procedures including fire drills.

Day-to-day as an Inside Sales Representative
As a Full-Time Inside Sales Representative at NICOR INC, you will play a vital role in supporting sales efforts through a range of responsibilities that ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
Communicate daily with the Sales Department regarding customer requests, inquiries, and order status updates.
Utilize NICOR's Enterprise Resource System (SHIMS) to process orders and inquiries.
Process customer orders, returns, and exchanges accurately and in a timely manner.
Interpret customer requests to identify and address underlying business needs.
Provide solutions to customer inquiries related to products, shipping, and accounts.
Prepare and deliver accurate product pricing quotes for customer projects as required.
Promote upselling opportunities: actively communicate, support, and drive adoption of sales promotions
Provide timely and effective follow-up on sales calls, customer inquiries, and orders
Maintain a high level of customer service and support by responding promptly and efficiently to Distributor Partners, Sales Agents, and end-users via phone, email, and other communication channels.
