    Northern Light CA Dean Hospital Department: Medical Surgical Unit Greenville, ME Work Type: PRN Hours Per Week: As Needed Work Schedule: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing basic nursing attention to patients and attending to patient's healing process as a part of a larger multidisciplinary team. The incumbent is responsible for the practice of nursing according to the Rules and Regulations defined in the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act, Northern Light Health Standards of Care/Practice, policies, and procedures. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care to assigned patients, and for the supervision of other qualified staff to whom the Licensed Practical Nurse has delegated patient care in accordance with scope of practice and policy. The nurse assists the Registered Nurse by collecting data that will aide in the development of a plan of care and reinforcing established education plans developed by the Registered Nurse. The nurse addresses physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs of the patient, and delivers the plan of care with other healthcare professionals. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job.     Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital Department: Medical Surgical Unit Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 36.00 Work Schedule: Variable This Earn & Learn opportunity is in the Medical Surgical department Summary: The Nursing Sponsorship Student completes the coursework required to graduate from an accredited school of nursing. While going to school the student works in a clinical capacity (if holds a current clinical licenser or certification) or non-clinical capacity at Northern Light Health. The Northern Light Maine Coast RN Sponsorship program consists of the following benefits: 1. Candidates accepted into the program will be awarded full tuition paid for up to a two-year accelerated nursing program or for the final two years of a nursing program of their choice. These years will be considered "sponsored years." 2. During the sponsored years, MCMH will pay for the employee to attend class and study, for up to 16 hours per week. 3. During the sponsored years, the employee will work as a patient experience aide or in certified nursing assistant role at Northern Light MCMH for 24 hours per week. Employees accepted into the program will be considered full time and will be eligible to receive full time benefits. 4. When not actively enrolled in full-time classes, the employee agrees to work full time 40 hours/per week. If enrolled in part-time class schedule, hours will be prorated. 5. Post NCLEX, the employee promises to remain a full time nurse with Northern Light Health MCMH for 1 year for every $10,000 paid on their behalf for tuition and/or educational expenses to their school during the sponsored year(s) with a maximum commitment of five years of service. 6. Will apply to an open new grad position within MCMH and will be enrolled in the Nurse Residency program for their first year of nursing practice.
