    Northern Light Acadia Hospital Department: Occupational Therapy Acadia Work Type: PRN Work Schedule: Variable, No Hours Assigned SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES Occupational Therapist, Registered and Licensed in the State of Maine to provide comprehensive occupational therapy for psychiatric, chemical dependency, inpatients, outpatients, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics including assessment, one-on-one treatment, and group treatment. These interventions are designed to measure and improve skills in the following areas: Activities of Daily Living (ADL), cognitive functioning, work and school performance, leisure and recreation skills, community re-entry, Independent Living Skills, sensory integration, and psychosocial skills. Help maintain an age-appropriate therapeutic environment. Perform any duties/responsibilities assigned by Manager or Supervisor for which qualified. Responsibilities: * Administers all mandatory parts of the evaluation (as tolerated by client). * Is competent in administering all parts of the evaluation-this will be measured by supervisor via two observations throughout the year and ongoing review of evaluation write-ups. * Modifies evaluation administration techniques as evaluation battery is modified over time. * Documents reason for not administering parts of the evaluation in the dictated report. * Understands rationale for using tests in evaluation batter; be able to articulate rationale to treatment team, client, and public. * Completes a comprehensive report that addresses areas of strengths, deficits, functional performance, client goals, necessary accommodation, and safety. * Documents reason for delay of administration of evaluation in progress note; determine a follow-up date for re-administration. * Attends treatment team meeting following administration of evaluation to discuss results. * Attends other unit/program-based meetings in which clinical data is discussed. * Contacts clinician/RN/MD weekly to provide ongoing consultation. * Ensures appropriate release of information forms have been signed prior to releasing functional performance data. * Teaches caregivers specific skills or review recommendations whenever necessary. * Provides specific information verbally or in writing to facilitate client treatment. * Notifies HeIS of all requests for information from the medical record. * Documents evaluation according to policy and the template. * Documents SOAP/SOIEAP notes and other progress notes according to policy. * Completes all billing forms in full according to policy. * Reports results of safety audits and other audits to the appropriate individual. * Follows department, Nursing, Human Resources, and IDD policies and procedures. * Completes duties and manages issues and concerns as directed by your supervisor; policies and procedures; safety officer; department head; and administration * Demonstrates professional behavior toward client, the family, the public, coworkers, supervisor, and student interns. * Develop and maintain the ability to work collaboratively with others in an interdisciplinary work environment. * Functions in the role of Occupational Therapy consultant in order to educate other healthcare providers about client'sfunctional performance; about occupational therapy; and about occupational performance in general. * Uses clinical and administrative supervision to address issues and concerns. * Productivity Standard of 75% of working time is produced as billable. The Physical Therapist implements a specific treatment plan to limit physical disability, bodily malfunction, and pain from injury and/or disease. The Physical Therapist confers and collaborates with physicians, patients, and family as well as the multidisciplinary team, using evidence-based practice to achieve optimal results and improvement during implementation of the home care treatment plan.
