The Robert Dick Laboratory is seeking an Academic Research Scientist to join our team in studying the fundamental biology and inhibitor interactions of retroviruses and other viral families from a structural perspective. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, conducting, and analyzing wet lab experiments, including biochemical assays, tissue culture work, and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) sample preparation. A central aspect of the role involves processing cryo-EM data to determine viral lattice structures and contribute to structural insights that inform antiviral strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Under minimal supervision, the Assistant Academic Research Scientist performs a wide range of highly technical and complex tasks necessary to advance basic and/or translational research programs.
+ Responsible for working with experimental platforms specific to the hiring Program.
+ Duties will include but are not limited to experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation and communication of results of basic and/or translational research.
+ Will be required to review literature and apply advanced knowledge, skills, and input necessary for protocol development. May assist in grant and other funding applications, as necessary and appropriate.
+ With the approval of the responsible Emory faculty director, the Assistant Academic Research Scientist may serve as the principal investigator on funded (grant) proposals.
+ Performs other responsibilities as required.

This position is based primarily in Emory's Structural Heart Disease Program, including participation in transcatheter valve and other structural heart cases at Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associate will participate in the daily care and have significant input in determining the course of care of all Structural Heart Patients.
Seeing patients pre-procedure including: clinic consults with history and physical, reviewing diagnostic testing, imaging analysis with 3D software, disposition planning with heart team, clinical consent and pre-operative testing, admission and pre-procedure orders. Review of inclusion/exclusion criterial for clinical trial candidates.
Seeing patients post-procedure: post-operative orders, daily rounding with members of heart team, discharge planning and occasional follow-up clinic.
Evaluating in-patient consults on behalf of Structural service.
In conjunction with other providers of Structural team, responsible for writing all notes in Epic, using Structural Heart templates when applicable for each patient encounter.
Research presentations for Structural patients in clinical trials, including case reports, image analysis, PowerPoint slides.
Eligible participation in diagnostic heart catherization and coronary intervention for patients with structural heart disease.
Participate in teaching of the house staff and regional lectures on structural heart disease.
Participates in SHVC/s academic research under leadership of Research Fellow and Directors. Poster presentations at conferences is highly encouraged.

The Division of Animal Resources, within the Emory National Primate Research Center at Emory University Field Station (Lawrenceville, Georgia), is currently seeking Animal Care Trainees to join our team. Our work consists of providing husbandry and care for a large colony of nonhuman primates in an open campus-type setting. In addition to the husbandry and care duties and responsibilities, trainees are also trained to assist veterinary staff, colony management staff, and behavioral management staff. Once trained, Animal Care Trainees are assigned to an alternating weekend and holiday schedule.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, extremely dependable, reliable, detail-oriented, and possess a positive attitude and passion for animal care in a research environment. The Division of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging of Emory University has openings for a 1-year PET combined clinical-research fellowship starting July 1, 2026. The Department of Radiology maintains an excellent academic environment with a strong commitment to research and teaching in a wide range of disciplines. The fellowship will combine clinical PET training with the potential for protected research time and an opportunity to work with novel PET radiotracers among many other clinical and research possibilities. Clinical duties may include on-call responsibilities as well as additional duties covering a nuclear medicine service at one of the teaching institutions of Emory. Radionuclide therapy procedures using non-sealed sources are part of nuclear medicine clinical responsibilities. A new purpose designed theranostic center is opening at Emory University Hospital Midtown in the summer of 2023 integrated with a multi-disciplinary GI/GU clinic. For the qualified candidate, there may be an option to create a personalized program, which could include body imaging as well as general and cardiac nuclear medicine rotations. An option for a second year of fellowship experience may also be considered at the discretion of the Fellowship Director and Division Director. There are 9 full time physicians in Nuclear Medicine. There are also 12 dedicated research faculty including 11 PhDs and 1 MD among six translational and basic science laboratories.
The equipment at the Emory University affiliated nuclear medicine departments includes state-of-the-art imaging and computer systems. Each institution has several imaging systems including SPECT and SPECT/CT and specialized computer facilities. Emory has a PET Center, including two PET/CT scanners and a PET/MR as well as PET/CTs at Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory St. Josephs Emory Johns Creek, Grady Memorial Hospital, and the VA Medical Center. Additional research instruments include dedicated research PET/CT, a micro PET/CT preclinical scanner, a multispectral in-vivo fluorescence imaging system, and a cyclotron located in a new research building. Research opportunities are available for fellows in both clinical and basic research; research is required and is tailored to the individual's long-term goals. Research facilities include state-of-the-art cyclotron and radiochemistry services, animal imaging research laboratories utilizing PET-CT and a wide variety of other resources. The Division is integrally involved in research conducted by Emory University School of Medicine faculty, including close collaboration with colleagues in Radiology, Cardiology and the Winship Cancer Institute. Currently, there are active clinical research programs involving new PET and single-photon radiotracers, therapeutics, Y-90 microsphere therapy, and many other projects involving translational medicine. Protected research time may be available depending on clinical needs and research progress, and meeting time to attend professional conferences may be available.

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University Medical School is seeking fellowship-trained radiologists in chest or abdominal imaging for full-time or part-time remote positions to join the thriving, expanding Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging (CT).
Candidates ideally will integrate in the division focusing predominantly on chest imaging, including chest X-rays, oncologic chest CT studies, lung cancer screening studies. Interstitial lung disease cases are also available to candidates who have interest. Candidates may choose to focus predominantly on thoracic imaging or have a mixed practice with abdominal or multispecialty imaging.
Our department is in a growth phase currently providing on-site and remote interpretive services for 8 hospitals and multiple outpatient imaging centers that compose the radiology practices of Emory Healthcare and the Grady Health System.The Division is strongly oriented toward innovation with several Artificial Intelligence tools available to support the daily practice and operation.
In collaboration with successful candidates, physician schedules are carefully composed to optimize work-life balance and prioritize long-term personal and division success. We have several template schedules within the department including a 26 weeks on 26 weeks off schedule consisting of 8am-5pm weekday shifts and 7am-4pm shifts on the weekends/holidays. This equates to 182 shifts of clinical duty per year. We have additional schedules which can involve evening work and multispecialty imaging if this is an interest for the candidate.
Candidates may decide to participate in both clinical and non-clinical divisional activities, including teaching and trainee supervision.
State-of-the-art clinical equipment is present across the enterprise. The department has a strong commitment to faculty development and academic advancement.
