Ensures drugs are reordered as per hospital policy and procedure. 6. Maintains records and inventory of investigation drugs, controlled substances, and methadone. Maintains records of transactions and delivery. 7. Manufactures, prepares, and labels compound and solutions, and other sterile products. 8. Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy including internship, required. PharmD, preferred. 2. Must possess current license to practice Pharmacy in New York State. 3.     FLEXSTAFF - PHARMACIST Acute Care Various Shifts Depending upon need Interprets, compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies, using standard physical and chemical procedures to fill written prescriptions issued by physicians, and other qualified prescribers. Enters drug orders into computer profile. RESPONSIBILITIES * * * * * * * Interprets and enters drug orders and patient data into computer profile. Selects, prepares, and dispenses drug products to fill inpatient and outpatient prescriptions. Labels drug products as per procedure. * Dispenses employee prescriptions, initiates profile system, and provides drug information. * Interacts with health care personnel to provide information on drug action or delivery of various medications. Provides compatibility information for IV administration of various drugs. * Screens for drug allergy and drug interactions. Notes drugs or classes of drugs contraindicated in specific disease states. Conducts pre-admission and discharge patient medication interviews upon request. * Reviews patient charts and nursing medication-charting documents for accuracy and completeness to maintain accurate patient profile. Ensures drugs are reordered as per hospital policy and procedure. * Maintains records and inventory of investigation drugs, controlled substances, and methadone. Maintains records of transactions and delivery. * Manufactures, prepares, and labels compound and solutions, and other sterile products. * Performs related duties, as required. * ADA Essential Functions REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy including internship, required. PharmD, preferred. * Must possess current license to practice Pharmacy in New York State. * Minimum of one (1) year related experience to ensure familiarity with hospital pharmacy practice, preferred. * Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. Assists Registered Pharmacist in the non-professional (non-judgmental) aspects preparing and dispensing medication. 2. Fills, packages, labels and stocks unit dose cart from patient profile card or computerized pick list; brings cart to nursing unit according to predetermined schedule. Makes other deliveries, as required. 3. Fills bottles or other package forms with measured amount of medication either manually or mechanically. 4. Labels containers of drugs according to department specification, either manually or mechanically. 5. Assists in clean air room, using sterile technique in filling and labeling injectable prescriptions, where required. 6. Assists in preparation and/or labeling of IV additives. 7. Fills medication orders in inpatient area. 8. Packages sudden, unexpected medication requests, as required. 9. Assists Registered Pharmacist in maintaining a variety of records and reports. 10. Maintains IV records with Pharmacist direction. 11. Maintains records for medication in inpatient area. 12. Maintains records of preparation of extemporaneous medications. 13. Assists in the maintenance of statistics and records for all medication orders. 14. Enters orders into computer terminal for refill purposes. 15. Maintains sufficient inventory at workstations in Pharmacy. 16. Transports required pharmacy material, as necessary. 17. Receives and maintains records of stock and inventory control. 18. Assists in material control by maintaining records and inventories. 19. Maintains placement of sufficient daily inventory of supplies to all areas of the Pharmacy to assure efficient operating conditions. 20. Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS + High School Diploma or equivalent, required. + Current national certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)/National Healthcare Association (NHA), required. + NYSED- License + Minimum of two years experience as Pharmacy Tech in Retail + Ability to learn computerized hospital pharmacy system.
