SUMMARY The Elective Services Consultant works with surgeons, clinic staff members, and patients for growth of the elective service line. The primary responsibility is to educate patients on their elective care options and to increase the number of eligible patients that choose services by providing an exceptional patient experience and subject matter expertise. This individual is an educational resource for patients and is instrumental to the growth of elective services. Elective services include, but are not limited to, LASIK, Advanced Cataract options and dry eye services. Starting base pay is $50,000-$54,000/year with quarterly bonus potential. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care Coordination Provide exceptional personal service and attention to patients during their visit to the clinic. Talk to patients over the phone and in person about the benefits of our elective services. Explain all paperwork, obtain necessary signatures, and collect payment when appropriate with established protocols. Explain the procedures and evaluation process in a manner that prepares the patient. Support the evaluation process by problem solving and coordinating the visit, including engaging the surgeon or site manager, as necessary. Close the visit with the patient and subsequent workflows, including scheduling the surgery and finalizing the pricing. Assists patients with pre- and post-operative preparations for smooth and comfortable surgical experience. Inquiry Follow Up Performs telephone and one-on-one follow-up with prospective patients. Counsels patients on the benefits of elective services and follows established protocols regarding access, cost, and process for elective services. Use and maintain daily task management system for continuous and accurate follow up of potential surgery patients, from all sources. Responsible for assessing patient needs, financial counseling, lead tracking, reporting, and follow up with professional communication. Patient Scheduling Schedule patients for appointments with the surgeons for surgery or evaluation. Maintain distribution process of patients to surgeons, as established by protocols. Document sales notes for each patient in database system. Assist with patient registration, discussion of patient scheduling access, and check-in as needed. Administrative Interact effectively with regional team members, managers, surgery technical staff, surgery schedulers, surgeons, administration, and other members of the management team to assure quality patient care. Maintenance of a data base to track follow up calls, emails, and tasks. Maintain sales and marketing information and education supplies at clinic sites. Fully understand all elective service package details. Support staff education on refractive surgery knowledge by participating with in-services and support development of presentations. Produce reports from tracking software to meet the needs of surgeons and management. Support marketing efforts as needed by organization. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other Duties Encourage and participate in new aspects and offerings of our elective services. Open to collaboration with regional team members and flexibility with changes. Provide ideas and suggestions on how process, flow and offerings can be constantly improved. Other tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma required. College coursework preferred. Experience in a medical office with extensive patient service experience. Experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred. Sales experience preferred. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Understanding of ophthalmology terms and procedures, including refractive error, cataracts, MGD, and the anatomy of the eye Patient-care focused approach and ability to interact with patients consistently throughout the day. Professional communication skills and ability to educate and support patient decision-making. Able to clearly document activities in a computer tracking system. Organized and can move between multiple tasks while maintaining progress in work and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills. SUMMARY The Triage Technician is a dual clinical role with primary functions split between handling patient phone calls and triaging ocular concerns to determine the urgency of clinic visits, and performing measurements and tests as part of the patient work up necessary for the provider to determine a diagnosis and provide treatment. Starting pay is $20.00-23.00/hour. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Phone Triage-Specific * Triage patient phone calls, answer questions and resolve concerns as directed by the provider to achieve patient satisfaction. * Determine the urgency for a clinic visit, if at all, and schedule patients accordingly. * Properly document all calls using the Patient Communication log in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). * Initiate tasks via EHR when necessary to enlist the assistance of other team members to resolve the patient's request and/or concern. * Accurately complete medication refill requests obtained via fax, phone call, and patient portal. * Other phone-specific duties as assigned. Position Summary: The Scribe assists the Doctors of Ophthalmology and/or Optometry with documentation of the patient exam into the patient's electronic health record (EHR). The Scribe will also assist with facilitation of surgery and procedure scheduling and scheduling of return appointments as directed by the provider. Partners with other clinic staff to facilitate efficient clinic flow and ensure quality patient care. Starting pay is $18.50-21.00/hour. Schedule: This position works Monday-Friday with hours varying between 7:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday mornings on rotation 7:30a-12p. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Document patient exam in EHR, scribing all elements of the patient exam including contact lens template, procedure orders, e-prescribing medications and scheduling the return to clinic. * Provide patient and family counseling/education as needed, including the creation of medication grids. * Dispense medication and/or over the counter product samples as directed. * Print and dispense glasses and/or contact lens prescriptions as directed. * Review all chart notes and correspondence daily to ensure accuracy and completeness. Ensure chart documentation meets ICD-10 requirements. * Obtain patient signature on consent documents for in lane procedures. * Set up exam rooms per provider preference, keep exam rooms stocked and clean between patients; cleaned at end of each work day; assist in maintaining public spaces for professional appearance. * Run EHR reports at end of clinic to ensure completion of patient documents. * Partner with providers to prepare culture documents, ensure proper storage of specimens, contact lab for pickup and ensure specimen is in the lockbox for pick up. * Attend trainings and stay current on requirements for Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) measures, HIPAA compliance and Protected Health Information. * Schedule return appointments and/or enter recalls in Electronic Practice Management (EPM) as ordered by the provider, including referrals to outside providers * Other duties as assigned. SUMMARY Provides professional, high quality, safe and efficient peri-operative nursing care to patients. Roles include circulating, scrubbing, preoperative and postoperative areas as assigned. SUMMARY The Patient Service Representative is responsible for welcoming patients and visitors to MEC in a warm and friendly manner and helping to prepare for their visit. This includes problem resolution and assisting with paperwork including demographics, insurance information, and collecting co-payments and/or past due balances in a timely manner. Starting pay is $20.00/hour. LOCATION & SCHEDULE This position is based in our Minnetonka clinic but will be required to work shifts at other MEC clinics as needed. This position will work an 8 hour shift Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5pm with one day staying until 8:00p. Also, there is a Saturday morning from 7:30am-12:00p (would then get a half day off during the week) once per month. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Welcome and acknowledge all patients and guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank others with genuine appreciation. * Obtain complete patient histories including chief complaint, past ocular/medical history, family medical/ocular history and history of allergies and medications. * Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing efficiently to provide basic information necessary for ophthalmic examinations. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmology clinics. Your responsibilities will include: Patient Work-Up: Conduct basic patient assessments, including visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, and dilation. Testing and Evaluation: Perform a range of tests such as confrontation visual fields, cover testing, and versions, and assist in manifest refractions. Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, explain testing procedures, answer questions, and provide necessary education. Team Collaboration: Work closely with our clinical support team and providers to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow. Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by recognizing and addressing common safety hazards. Documentation: Utilize our EMR system to accurately record patient data and ensure it's ready for provider review. Education: High school diploma is required; some college or a degree is preferred. Certification as a COA or COT is a plus. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment. Location and Schedule This position is a 40 hour per week position, regularly working M-F between the hours of 7am - 5pm. The home base of this position is Maple Grove but will require some travel to the other Northwest Eye Clinic locations (Children's West - Minnetonka, Wayzata, St. Anthony, Wayzata, Woodbury). Position Summary: The Ophthalmic Technician performs diagnostic testing and work-up as delegated by the physician to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patient's conditions and to do so in a way that instills patient confidence in the treatment.
