Description
Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient Otolaryngology (ENT) department. The APP will be assisting the ENT surgeon with patient care and having independent clinic to support access in clinic.
Schedule: 4x10s, M-F, day off TBD; no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call
The Physician Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization?s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Physician Assistant performs procedures in accordance with clinical privileges and/or the written collaborative agreement and within the specialty of the supervising physician. This role functions autonomously and collaborates with other health professionals to provide high quality, cost effective health care to patients, manage health care systems, and influence health care decision-making through expert clinical reasoning, research and theory-based practice.
Responsibilities:
Provides direct care to patients which demonstrates clinical expertise and advanced knowledge.
Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic health problems within specialty area of practice.
Collaborates and consults with physicians and other health care professionals in area of clinical expertise.
Develops educational systems and strategies for teaching patients, families and staff on topics related to area of expertise.
Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice.
Actively participates in and/or conducts research pertinent to area of expertise.
Specific Performance Standards:
1. Clinical
Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients? health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in specialty area
Provides primary prevention strategies and management of stable health problems
Provides specialty care to assigned patients that may include both stable and unstable chronic health problems
Establishes diagnoses for common short-term or chronic health conditions
Prescribes medications, diet, supplies, prosthetic devices and other home health aides or medication according to clinical privileges
Orders and Interprets appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms and diagnostic procedures specified in clinical privileges
Evaluates patients to determine their need for further health care
Teaches and counsels patients and families in preventive care, medical conditions, plan of care, anticipated outcomes, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs
Documents in the medical record all care provided and/or procedures performed
Serves as consultant to other disciplines in areas of expertise
2. Leadership/Organization
Mentors staff to ensure quality of health care practices.
Assists with policy development and review in area of expertise
Participates in unit/departmental/divisional and/or hospital committees/task forces.
Consults with management in assessment, problem solving, decision making, and evaluating clinical/system issues.
3. Education
Provides comprehensive teaching to patients and their families.
Develops and participates in programs to meet continuing education needs of staff.
Provides formal education to both internal and external groups pertinent to area of specialty.

4. Quality and Outcomes
Identifies primary patient needs, participates as applicable in the NMG quality program with focus on measures in patient satisfaction, quality performance, and access

Qualifications
Required:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistant Programs
Physician Assistant in Medicine, Licensed (IL)
Physician Assistant certification by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as specified by department
Controlled substance license and DEA registration required as specified by the department
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a PA

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, collaborative, and flexible Advanced Practice Provider to join our fast-paced inpatient Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team. As an APP on the Trauma Surgery service, you will respond to trauma activations in the ER, assist in consultations, and contribute to the management for 20-50 high-acuity patients. This is not an operative position. Must be enthusiastic about a teaching environment for trainees of all levels.
Schedule: 4x10s on weekdays (M,T,Th,F). One week per month will be 3x10s on weekdays and 1x10 on Saturday. No on-call

Major Responsibilities:
PATIENT SATISFACTION Collaborates with the Director, Physician Practice Management and physician leadership to maintain an environment that is patient centered as evidenced by availability of open access including but not limited to the following: same day appointments, future appointments made, referrals made within the group, adherence to test result reporting guidelines, positive patient comments, and meeting/exceeding Key Results Area (KRA) goals.
5) Achieves patient satisfaction scores consistent with Advocate Medical Group (AMG) and practice site goals.

1) Reviews and analyzes each patient comment and monitors satisfaction scores.

9) Assists with orienting new physicians to staff and environment. Implements schedules for new physicians. Participates in the smooth transition of practice acquisitions.
10) Ensures timely separation processes occur for physician terminations and retirements, using appropriate temination checklist.

Distributes and discusses productivity reports, Clinical Integration reports, compensation settlements, etc. Works with director to clarify issues. 7) Manages health information and medical records processes in and out of the EMR environment. Collaborates with Health Information department, Risk Management and Quality Improvement associates as needed to ensure all elements of protected health information are enforced.

8) Assesses educational needs of the staff and facilitates educational opportunities. Assists individuals with identifying professional goals and provides opportunities to achieve those goals.
GROWTH Facilitates and drives initiatives that enhance practice growth as well as retention of existing patients under the direction of the Director, Physician Practice Management and in collaboration with physician leadership.

Education/Experience Required:

Webster ASC is a brand-new multi-specialty surgical center located in the picturesque neighborhood of Lincoln Park. It consists of two operating rooms and two procedures rooms with room for future expansion.

Pay Range
$20.80 - $31.20Completes patient order confirmations and modifications for item changes occurring after initial order ticket printing to begin revenue recognition and billing processes.
1) Reviews all paperwork submitted with equipment set up packets to ensure all forms are complete, signed and dated appropriately.
2) Any safety issues documented by drivers will be followed up with appropriate correspondence to patients, physicians or management, such as patient smoking in the home with oxygen, incorrect storage of oxygen tanks, etc.
3) Processes service maintenance tickets and resets the schedule for future service and maintenance of rental equipment.
4) Maintain a knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, Managed Care, PHO's and Advocate contract procedures and guidelines.
5 ) Verify that current and appropriate authorizations are in place for all managed care clients for supplies and for purchased items.
6) Identification, investigation and verification of sources of reimbursement.
7) Be proficient in the use of computerized resources and data entry programs involving proper processing and qualifying of patients with clients with HME/RT needs. (These include, but are not limited to OnBase, Fastrack, Carenet, ERMA and Care Connection).
8) Completes daily update by running the Confirmed Orders for Billing Report to identify and correct errors in order entry.
Completes Direct Bill entry for supply closet items dispensed at off site Advocate locations.
1) Obtains payable diagnosis codes for item dispensed, using the Care Connection visit information, or as provided on the delivery transaction form.
2) Reviews billing system to determine if patient has an existing account or creates a new account by entering demographic and insurance information.
3) Completes insurance eligibility check within billing system for payers that system allows (BCBS, Medicare, Medicaid, HMOI).
4) Enters charges through Direct Billing entry.
5) Completes monthly bulk billing to hospital cost centers for Direct Bill items that were not billed to insurance due to payer being out-of-network with AHCP.
Works weekly Open Orders Report and investigates reason for delay in confirmation and revenue not being collected according to pre-defined process.
1) Confirms or deletes open orders after thorough investigation and confirmation that service was provided.
Completes daily patient record retention and archive processes.
1) Prepares all documents received during the confirmation process for scanning and indexing into the electronic medical record of the patient's account by removing staples, repairing tears, etc. according to pre-defined instructions.
2) Operates and monitors scanning/imaging equipment.
3) Reviews output copies to ensure and validate continuing resolution quality of printed images, informing management or IS Department if unable to correct faulty resolution issues.
4) Indexes scanned documents by accurately selecting proper patient, document type and other descriptors.
5) Storage and destruction of scanned documents per pre-defined instructions.
Prepares and works various reports in an effort to maintain accurate account information and status.
1) Works monthly discharge reports to inactivate accounts with no active rentals and no activity in over one year.
2) Works monthly Medicare Continued Use report for documentation of patients' use per Medicare guidelines.
3) Follows up on lost/stolen equipment by sending letters to patients and facilities when equipment can not be retrieved.
Provides customer service support to both internal and external customers by resolving delivery, equipment, documentation and/or reimbursement issues with appropriate parties.
1) Responds to customer equipment questions and refers to appropriate distribution associate and follows up to ensure resolution.
2) Works with Intake and Distribution to answer questions concerning customer deliveries.
3) Back up phone support for all AHCP departments, as well as assistance with walk-in patients.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
1) Runs, collects and tabulates data and submits to management selected, assigned reports such as the Daily Order Report.

Job Description
**This is a Full Time, salaried position at 40 hours per week located at the Cancer Center.**

The medical Physicist develops and accurately documents every components of the treatment machine parameters that reflect the accuracy of treatment plans, as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, to assure the delivery of quality patient care free of any error on a daily basis. The Physicist is responsible for acceptance testing, commissioning, and maintaining the treatment machine within national guidelines as specified in AAPM guidelines as well as provide daily, monthly and annual QA programs for every piece of equipment used for patient treatment.
Additionally, the Physicist provides validation of the treatment planning system for its accuracy as it relates to the patient. The Physicist is knowledgeable enough for safe operation of every available software for patient care and know the algorithms for dose calculation. This role is a go-to-person on technical component of the hardware/software and collaborates with other sections and supports the clinical needs of the department.
Responsibilities:
Instrumental in acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment, development of new treatment techniques, quantitative analysis of clinical data
Provide QA methodology for simulator, and treatment machines for daily, monthly and annual calibrations as well as documentation for state regulator (IEMA)
Develops methodology for image import, acquisition, and implementation of imaging modalities (CT, MRI, PET, PET/CT) for fusion and treatment planning
Implementation of complex treatment plans (IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, SBRT) as well as new technology
Assisting in ensuring that all treatment plans are optimized for the best patient care to NM standard and patients are treated in a safe and timely manner
Performs and verifies accuracy of treatment plans and dose calculations
Perform special procedures as needed (e.g. Brachytherapy, TBI, TSEI etc).
Provide or measure in-vivo dosimetry using appropriate detectors; TLDs, diodes, MOSFETS, film, etc., and records the results appropriately and informs physicians of the results and takes appropriate action as necessary
Perform patient related work such as support in simulation, initial chart check, weekly physics check and end of treatment chart check
Be a clinical resource to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and radiation therapists
Adheres to all radiation safety policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of patients, visitors and staff at all times
Provide assistance for accurate billing and data reporting
Collects data to support the measurement and tracking components of regional quality management and identifies areas for potential improvement and recommends corrective actions
Takes a regional leadership responsibility for process improvement
Qualifications
Required:
Master's or PhD degree in Medical Physics or equivalent.
Board Certified in Therapeutic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American College of Medical Physics (ABMP) or equivalent.
Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

In collaboration with the manager and director, is actively involved in the operational aspects of patient care and department operations to support unit specific programs and organizational initiatives.

This is a Full Time position at 40 hours per week located at the Grayslake clinic for Family Medicine. Schedule is Monday through Friday, hours will vary between 7:30am-5:00pm. Previous Pediatrics experience and being bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

The Triage Nurse provides clinically expert triage service within a physicians' practice. In their role, triage nurses serve as liaisons between patients and physicians, assessing and determining the acuity of patients' symptoms and communicating these to the physicians as appropriate. They provide education to patients and to staff concerning clinical issues. Triage nurses must demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to function as part of a highly effective team that consistently puts "Patients First."
Responsibilities:
* Establish positive first impressions with patients and customers, establishing a role as patient advocate.
* Triage all incoming telephone calls and electronic messages, prioritizing and resolving, involving the provider as appropriate, successfully completing the communication cycle.

* Schedule patient for visit with provider when telephone assessment indicates this.

Responsibilities:
Certified Paramedical Artist specialized in 3D Areola Tattooing for breast cancer survivors
Casual/PNE Role. Expected 4-8 hours per month
Consultation: Discuss patients desired look, color, concerns and realistic expectations
Design: Create a design by measuring and outlining nipple area
Tattoo: Applying tattoo using professional techniques
Assesses the patient, reviews patient's relevant history, prepares appropriate supplies and sterile equipment.
Performs facial dermatology services and/or assist physician with procedures (laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, chemical peels, biopsies, etc.).
Provides patient education and answers questions before, during, and after treatment.
Captures pre- and post-treatment photos.
